PROJECT PROFILE

• NAME OF THE PROJECT :- World tarde centre.


• LOCATION :- Along NH-37,basishta, guwahati,
Assam.
• AREA :- 10.6 ACRE.
• ESTIMATE COST :- 1950 CR.
• CLIENT :- Assam govt. sign MoU with NBCC to const.

INTRODUCTION
• Assam Government on February 2, 2018 signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with the National Building Construction
Corporation (NBCC) for construction of 65-storey Twin Tower Trade
Centre in Guwahati.

• The agreement was signed under the pro-active “Act East Policy” of the
Union Government aiming at elevating and harnessing the strengths of
North-East India and reducing the isolation of the region by improving
all round connectivity and civic infrastructure.

• Using green technologies and would reflect rich natural heritage and
culture of Assam.

• The construction of this 65-storey twin towers has been receiving mixed
reactions as people fear that Assam falls in Zone 5, a high-risk
earthquake category. The tallest existing structure in Guwahati has G+15
floors though the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority
(GMDA) in 2013 granted environmental clearance to a 20-storey
apartment complex.

AIM

• To develop an international environment for business.

• It aims at showcasing the manufacturing process and opportunities


offered by the state to the growing economies of ASEAN and BBN
countries.

• It also aims at conducting road shows at different domestic and


international location, in order to showcase the businesspotential and
investment opportunities at the state. It promises to become a major part
at G2B , B2B meetings.
OBJECTIVE

• The project, touted to be the new Trade and Business Gateway for
South-East nations, will immensely boost economic interlinkages by
facilitating global trade and investment.

• Improved connectivity for Assam and the North East for becoming a
nodal point for connectivity with the South East Asia and for prosperity
of the region.

NEED OF PROJECT

•The Government of India has planned an investment to the tune of


approx. Rs 45,000 crore for the development of India's North-Eastern
regions bordering China, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar.He was
speaking at the MOU signing ceremony on Twin Tower Trade Centre
between the Government of Assam & National Building Construction
Corporation in Guwahati.

• connecting us with South East Nations and being a major trading hub
economic interlinkages.

SCOPE

• The new World Trade Center (WTC) will build a brighter, more vibrant
future for guwahati with superior commercial space, a modernized and
convenient transportation system, and cultural and highly commemorative
destinations. It will provide a significant economic boost for the area and
dramatically enhance the quality of life for the people who live, work, and
visit downtown
