Railway Budget 2020 - 2021
O Indian Railways, the lifeline of the country

O Free high-speed WiFi connectivity at 1000s of railway stations

across the country.

O Private participation in Railways.

O 1,150 trains to be run in PPP mode, also 4 stations to be

redeveloped with help of private sector, says FM.

O Proposal for setting up large solar power capacity alongside rail

track is under consideration.

Kisan Rail
O Railway Budget 2020 announced 'Kisan Rail‘. Refrigerated
coaches will be added in Express, for the benefit of farmers.

O Kisan Rail Scheme - A Game Changer If Executed Properly.

O Much of many perishable goods are sent via trucks, which are not
equipped with any sort of a temperature control. Thus by the time it
reaches its destination, the goods were dries up and farmers do not get
good value for their produce.

O It is a PPP(Public-Private-Partnership) mode for the cold supply chain to

transport perishable goods.

O The freight trains will help farmers to transport their perishable products
easily.

India's first bullet train project, which eyes
completion by 2023.

O Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for 6 high-speed

rail projects have already been sanctioned by
our Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.

O Depending on the traffic potential and the

feasibility, train speeds will be finalised for high-
