Full name :Dr Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam Born on:15th Oct 1931,at Dhanushkodi in Rameswaram District, Tamil Nadu His father Jainulabdeen was boat owner & his mother was housewife. In his school ,he describes as sincere,bright & a hardworking student who had a strong desire to learn & spend hours in his studies, especially math's. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was Scientist, Engineer, Professor Author, President and a Good human being. Primary education was from Rameshwaram elementary school. In 1950 he joined St Joseph college at Tiruchirapalli to do B.Sc. He joined DMIT in Aeronautical Engineering at MIT [Madras Institute of Technology] ,Madras (1954-1957). After graduating from MIT, Kalam took up the position of chief scientist at the Aeronautical Development Establishment of Defense Research Shifted to the (ISRO)Indian Space Research Organization where he was the project director of India's first indigenous Satellite Launch Vehicle and Development Organization (DRDO). The 5 projects were scheduled to be completed in a time frame of only 10 years and consisted of:
(1) Nag - an anti-tank guided missile.
(2) Prithvi - a surface-to-surface battlefield missile. (3) Akash - a swift, medium-range surface-to-air missile. (4) Trishul - a quick-reaction surface-to-air missile with a shorter range. (5) Agni - an intermediate range ballistic missile, the mightiest. 25 July 2002 to 25 July 2007 of India. Kalam served as the 11th President an electoral vote of 922,884. He known as People's President. He was also the first scientist and the first bachelor to occupy Rashtrapati Bhawan. Kalam said of the announcement of his candidature: I am really overwhelmed. Everywhere both in Internet and in other media, I have been asked for a message. I was thinking what message I can give to the people of the country at this juncture. Kalam begins his day by reading from the Bhagwad Gita. He works for about 18 hours each day. He plays the 'Rudra Veena'. Hard Working. Passionate for the work. Highly spiritual. Loving and caring. Committed and dedicated for work. Positive thinker. He was the Project Director in ISRO to help develop India's first indigenous Satellite Launch Vehicle. He took up the responsibility of developing Indigenous Guided Missiles at DRDO(This also earned him the title of 'Missile Man of India'.) He was the brain behind multiple nuclear tests carried out at Pokhran in 1998 which made India a nuclear weapon state.
