WHAT IS BRICS?
• BRICS is an acronym for Brazil, Russia, India, China and
South Africa and is an association of these countries.
They have been identified as the fastest growing
economies in the world.
• The acronym was originally coined in 2001 to highlight
the exceptional role of important emerging economies
and the then acronym included Brazil, Russia, India and
China (BRIC) only.
• The four countries themselves started to meet as a
group in 2006 and it was only in 2010 that South Africa
was invited to join the group, which was then referred
to as BRICS.
THEIR RESPONSIBILITY
• Build a credible repository of data and information that could be
used by members.
• Build a database of credible business partners across different
geographies and industry verticals.
• Conduct topical research that could be used by members to
understand business relevant issues in enough detail to conduct a
successful business in that space.
• Build social and cultural exchange between interested nations, by
promoting business around local art and culture.
• Provide advisory services – free of cost– to our members on legal as
well as other business critical services.
• Promote business interactions among members by organizing
regular visits and other forms of interactions.

BRICS CCI
The BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry
is a parent organization which promotes
commerce and industry in the BRICS
nations. The Chamber, founded in 2012 with the
efforts of eminent professionals and
entrepreneur, is a not-for-profit and non-
governmental organization.
BRICS CCI -OBJECTIVES
• The objective of BRICS CCI is to create an
enabling support system especially for MSME
segment of businesses and young entrepreneurs
from across all geographies. While the BRICS
nations will remain at the centre of all activities,
the chamber has taken in its credo to reach out to
and enable young entrepreneurs from other
friendly nations too. It proposes to be the ‘voice’
of young entrepreneurs and champion their
business success.
COUNTRIES GROWTH RATE.
NEW DEVELOPMENT BANK
• The New Development Bank (NDB), formerly
referred to as the BRICS Development Bank, is
a Multilateral development bank operated by the
BRICS states.
• The bank's primary focus of lending will be
infrastructure projects with authorized lending of
up to $34 billion annually.
• South Africa will be the African Headquarters of
the Bank named the "New Development Bank
Africa Regional Centre". The bank will have
starting capital of $50 billion.
NDB - OBJECTIVES
The main objectives of NDB operations are:
• Fostering development of member countries
• Supporting economic growth
• Promoting competitiveness and facilitating job creation
• Building a knowledge sharing platform among
developing countries
 To fulfill its purpose, the Bank will support public
or private projects through loans, guarantees, equity
participation and other financial instruments.
NDB -MISSION
The New Development Bank was formed to
support infrastructure and sustainable
development efforts in BRICS and other
underserved, emerging economies for faster
development through innovation and cutting-
edge technology. The bank will partner nations
through capital and knowledge, achieving
development goals with transparency and
empathy and creating an equal opportunity for
the development of all countries.
