Suspension trauma is one of the most
dangerous injury one can sustain during
a fall. The inability to cope with prolonged
immobility in a vertical position where
blood flow is cut off can lead to death.

One personƞs body can only withstand 10 to 1 minutes of

suspension before irreversible damage sets in. So it is best to
rescue a person as soon as possible after a fall. While awaiting
rescue keep moving the legs as long as possible.
