Water Crisis Scenario
Water Minimization

Having water is a right

and
Saving water
is everyone’s responsibility.
Water usage Data
• Total industrial water use in the world is
about 22%, with high –income countries
using 59%, and low income countries using
a minuscule 8%.These figures will rise with
industrial production.
• A more 2.5% of earth’s water is freshwater
and only 0.3% of it is readily accessible to
humans. This is equivalent to 0.01% of all
water on earth. Of this fraction, 8% goes
towards domestic use, 22% is used by
industry, and 70% for irrigation.
If the research is correct, humanity’s water
footprint will reach a level 40% above
reliable, accessible water supplies 2030.
• The Fashion industry’s relationship with
water goes beyond cotton. Some 14.4% of
an apparel retailer’s total water footprint
relates to manufacturing. An estimated 17 to
20% of industrial water pollution comes
from textile dyeing

Water Saving History
Comfit Composite knit Limited, Is a
organization of TEaM Holding Group.
which is starts it’s journey as an
organization of famous Youth Group from
the beginning of June, 2006.Firstly it’s start
production by the two non-familiar buyer of
garments sector named “Euro Centra” and
“Cotton Group” in tube line. But at present
Time it’s production process is running by the
production of a lot of leading buyers of
garments sector named “H&M”,
C&A(Mondial),Engel Bert, Zara and others.
This organization stand on area of 3,60,000
square fit. which contain of knitting floor of 10
ton production capacity, A Dyeing & Finishing
floor of 18 Ton production capacity, A printing
section 75,000 Pcs capacity & a well decorated
garments floor of 48 line. This factory export
it’s product with a lot of good will in the
garments sector of Bangladesh.
I am Engr S.M Shamim Hasan joined in the
organization Designated as “Deputy General
Manager” of Dyeing & finishing(Head of Dye
House) Department as a Textile Engineer in 1st
December 2010.
As a First man of Dye House I have faced
several types of difficulties and obstacles to
carried on my duties and responsibilities.
Besides them, I am controlling the Production
,Productivity , Product Quality, Profit & Loss
and also proper Management of the dye house.
In this situation I am trying my best for the
improvement of this organization by the
maximum utilization of my education & 14
years practical experience in the Textile sector.
One of my present attempt and success is
“Minimization of water Usage in Knit Dyeing
Process.” at the opening stage of this dye
house, we consumed 150 Liters water for one
kg fabric dyeing by using “DILMENLER’’
brand machine. But currently we are using only
around 55 liter water for one kg fabric in same
machine.
Countries across the world set water
consumption standards and targets for
industries to achieve, and regularly revise
the standards in a bid to control water use.
China, for instance, sets water targets for
major water consuming industrial sectors.
According to a report from the china water
conservation agency, the first national
quotas for industrial water consumption will
push companies to save as much as 6 billion
cubic meters of water a year by 2005.

Daily Uses water Cost = 26,760 Tk

Water production & Treatment Cost = 0.01115 Tk/Kg

Present Condition

55 Litre water use to produce Per 1(One) kg fabric.

Daily Uses water =880,000 Litre For 16 Ton Fabric
