OVERVIEW

Introduction
Causes of Climate Change.
Effects of Climate Change.
Conclusion
First of all, you
should know
that weather and
climate are not
the same thing.
WEATHER IS:

• Short term
• Limited area
• Can change rapidly
• Difficult to predict

WEATHER is what’s
happening outside
your window right
now.
CLIMATE IS:
• Long term
CLIMATE is the • Wide area
average of many • Seasonal
years of weather changes
• Measured over
observation. long spans of
time
DEFINITION OF CLIMATE CHANGE
Climate change refers to a long-term
changes in the global climate.
The global climate is the connected
system of sun, earth and oceans, wind,
rain and snow, forests, deserts, and
everything people do.
It is this systemic connectedness that
makes global climate change so important
and so complicated.
CAUSES OF CLIMATE CHANGE

 Anthropogenic(Human) Causes
Natural Causes

NATURAL CAUSES

Volcanic Eruptions
NATURAL CAUSES
Methane Emission
Methane is released by coal mining,
landfills, and by agriculture, particularly
through the digestive processes of beef
and milk cows.
RISE IN SEA LEVEL

Melting ice sheets  Sea level rise

HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS THE GLOBE
EXTREME DROUGHT
LESS CROP PRODUCTIVITY
ECOSYSTEMS ARE CHANGING
RISE IN TEMPERATURE
CARBON DIOXIDE ACIDIFIES SEAWATER

Ocean

“shelled-critters”

 CO2 and carbonate (which plankton use to make

shells) combine in the ocean.
 The ocean is already more acidic than it was 50
years ago.
Glaciers are melting away
worldwide

1913…

Austria, in
1875…

Animal and plant life is
changing

species studied have distributions of Arboretum, plants are
shifted their ranges British birds found flowering eight days
northward by as much as that many species earlier on average than
150 miles. (Parmesan, 1996; have moved north by they did from 1900 to
Parmesan et al., 1999) an average of 18.9 1920. (Primack et al,2004)

What can be done?
First we must admit that climate
change is everyone’s problem. No
agency, government, or scientist
can “fix it” for us. We are all in this
together.
We got here because of our lifestyle.
So our lifestyle has to change.

Here’s what you can do…

There’s no place like home…

…and there may never be again. Do your part.

How To Control Climate Change ?

1) Stop Deforestation
2) Start Cycling or Walking to short
distances.
3) Use common transport system.
4) Plant more trees.
5) Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
6) Aware and Educate people about
Environment.
7) Save Water and Electricity.
