attending such events requires movement of people that cause them to do tourism activities. MICE 2 MAJOR: 1. Quantity-MICE events attract guest regardless of the season. 2. Quality- MICE spend higher than regular or ordinary tourists, hence providing higher revenue for the same duration od stay as regular tourist. • The Multiplier Effect- describes how an increase in some economic activity starts a chain reaction that generates more activities than the original increase, the idea of repetition and its effect. • EXHIBITION- have been going on since the ancient times, when traders would hold occasional and entertainers would find a ready festive-minded audience. • MICE in the Philippines – Manila - became the first international meetings destination in Southeast Asia when it hosted the International Monetary Fund(IMF). – The government encouraged the private sector to invest in infrastructure and other related facilities. Outsourced event managers- refer to event management companies or individuals who organized events on per contract basis on behalf of their clients. • 2.In-House event managers-are positions/departments within an organization that is not into the business of event management but requires its own group of event managers. • 2. COMMUNITY The community represents both the target market and the people living in and around the MICE destination. The target market includes exhibitors, visitors, sponsors and other attendees. ASSOCIATION- under the second major stakeholders category/ community, because it holds a number of events and thus form a major part of the MICE target market. 3. Plays an important role in the MICE industry as it provides not only accomodations but also meetings room. • FOOD AND BEVERAGE Restaurant – is an establishment that provide meals to the public for a fee. Catering provides the same service that a restaurant does except that the service is provided outside the restaurant premises. • AIRLINES- play an important role in transporting people and goods essential to make the MICE Industry tick. • AIRPORTS- have the responsibility of making good first impression. International gateways in particular, are doors into the country and provide visitors with first taste of a coutry cultures. • TRANSPORTATION- providers of transporation services are important suppliers as well. ex.
