1st Stage
Acute Stage
• The first week after transmission
• The virus reproduced rapidly
• HIV can be easily transmitted to
someone
Symptoms
• Fever
• Headache
• Muscles aches and joint pains
• Rash
• Sore throat and painful mouth

2nd Stage
Clinical Latency
• Continues to multiply and destroy
the immune system
• There’s no specific symptoms during
this stage
• Last around 10 years

• Diarrhea
• Weight loss
• Oral yeast infection
• Shingles
3rd Stage
AIDS
• Immune system is weakened due
to HIV
• Vulnerable to a wide range of
illness
Symptoms
• Soaking night sweats
• Recurring fever
• Chronic diarrhea
• White spots on your tongue
• Unexplained fatigue
• Weight loss
• Skin rashes or bumps
