suggested see slide )
14
By-me > Audio: general features
> Possibility to use the By-me controls (buttons, touch screens) for switching
on/off, volume adjustment, source selection, track or radio station selection,
even if connected to automation line
> FM Radio can use an external antenna (F – type connection) or Bus Audio
line can work as antenna
> The maximum and switching ON volume of each zone can be set from
Control Unit parameters
15
By-me > Audio: general features
> Possibility of making microphone calls (general or selective) . That’s just mono
directional, it is not an intercom!
> “Baby control” function (at a desired threshold there is automatic signal
transmission)
> “Audio monitoring function”: from a zone it is possible to listen what’s happen
in the microphone’s zone.
> Integration with the scenes and events programs of the By-me system (for
instance radio clock alarm function).

By-me > Audio: Installation possibilities
19
By-me > Audio: IMPORTANT installation rules
20
By-me > Audio: devices – structure - rules
> The Audio line transmits high frequency signals and it needs to be ADAPTED.
ONLY at the EXTREMITIES (beginning and end) of the Audio line, or every Audio
branch a jumper has to be plugged – in. Therefore the question is: does the Audio
Bus Wire ends on the device? YES use the jumper and terminate the
line NO leave
jumper OPEN
21
By-me > Audio: IMPORTANT installation rules
22
By-me > Audio: topology - design
> 2 installation possibilities:
1) Integrated in an existing By-me automation line (suggested ONLY for small
installations due the high power consumption of Audio devices)
23
By-me > Audio: topology - design
2) Using a dedicated line connected by a Line coupler to the automation one
(Always preferred! The AUDIO devices MUST be connected ONLY in the
BLUE audio line!!!)
24
By-me > Audio: System design
> MAX 300m allowed from source to amplifier. Best solution without any
shunt in between.
25
By-me > Audio: System design
> MAX 200m allowed from source to amplifier with a shunt. It introduces an
attenuation like 100m of wire!!
26
By-me > Audio: System design
> MAX 100m allowed from source to amplifier with 2 shunts. Any shunt
introduces an attenuation like 100m of wire!!
27
By-me > Audio: System design
> MAX 10m allowed from 1 + 1W amplifier and ANY loudspeakers using
1mm2 cable
28
By-me > Audio: System design
> MAX 30m allowed from 10 + 10W amplifier and ANY loudspeakers (>10W)
using 1,5mm2 cable
29
By-me > Audio: power design
> Warning! The absorptions given in the previous table are only for the
audio devices and do not take account of any other automation devices
that may be connected to the By-me branch shunting terminal. If
necessary add it to the total.
> The absorption of the amplifier 01484 1+1 W (if powered directly by the
Bus and not through the auxiliary power supply 20580 and 14580)
reduces its distance from the system power supply, especially if it is
present in a number of points on the same branch.
> Always suggest to use the auxiliary power supply 20580 together
the 01484 to maintain the AUDIO line in the best conditions: low
consumptions and long distance capabilities.
30
By-me > Audio: Devices numbers
Descriptions Numbers Notes
Maximum No. of “audio” devices (inputs, 64 Limit fixed by the input impedance of the
outputs, accessories) “audio” nodes.
No. of receivers not powered by Bus (01901 or 64 - no. of inputs - no. of accessories Total: max 64 devices (transmitters, receivers,
01484+20580) (shunts, decouplers, etc). accessories).
Each receiver can choose the audio
channel from the 4 available ones
No. of receivers powered by Bus 01484 One receiver powered by Bus has the As a matter of fact there are limits of the By-me
consumption of 15 By-me devices: power supplies 01401: 1200 mA
therefore max 4 devices per power supply
No. of branch shunts for sound system (art. 2 Given the strong attenuation of the signal due
01904) between a transmitter and a to the shunts, it is necessary to make sure that
receiver the path between a transmitter and a receiver
does not pass more than 2 of them
No. of By-me “audio” shunts 01903 32 Each shunt enables shunting a By-me branch
beginning from the “audio” branch
No. of By-me devices that can be connected to 10 In each shunt created by the decoupler I can
the By-me “audio” shunt 01903 connect max 10 By-me devices
31
By-me > Audio: Group configuration
> How to design the groups / zones in AUDIO range:
> Create group for every source (up to 4). No pushbuttons or amplifiers at
all on it.
> Create a group for every room you have (up to 60) including at least 1
amplifier (use only room name in a group) in case of a big room,
configure more amplifiers in the same group. Pushbuttons can also be
included for local control. The amplifier groups can be controlled from a
touch screen too (if present).
> The microphones modules (up to 8) MUST be configured each ones in
independent groups
32
By-me > Audio: Group configuration
> Etpro automatically associate the out Groups to an Audio Zone.
> Set in each zone’s parameter the behaviour in case of “selective” or
“general call” (switch on or not)
> In case of “sleep” function, set also the switching off time
> Important notes in case of:
> “Microphone Baby Control” create a group with just the microphone
and set in the CU on which zone(s) you want to listen it (“baby control
zones).
> “Audio monitoring function”, create a group with the microphone
and a pushbutton (located in the control room) and then set in the CU
on which zone(s) you want to listen it (“audio monitoring zones”)

By-me > Audio: 1+1W RMS Amplifier 01484
34
By-me > Audio: 1+1W RMS Amplifier 01484
> The amplifier can be supplied by the BUS but in this case the bus length must
be reduced
> ALWAYS better to use the 14580/20580 additional power supply 120-230V
> The amplifier cannot manage more
than 2 loudspeakers
35
By-me > Audio: 10+10W RMS Amplifier 01901
> Amplifier 10 + 10W RMS
> It controls directly 2 loudspeakers 4+4M 10W
or bigger ones.
> The amplifier cannot manage more than 2
loudspeakers
> It needs power supply 120-230V
> Just in case of 3M loudspeakers control set
the parameter “power reduction “:

By-me > Audio: controls
> Zone control: each audio zone requires a minimum of 1 key (on/off / volume)
> This key can be everywhere, also in the automation line.
> A touch screen 3M or 4,3” and/or Webserver / APP can be used .
> An optional “Sleep” function can be configured too (timed automatic switching
off of the zone)
