INTRODUCTION
Its a term that represents a collection of
ideas, devices, and processes. Each thing is
represented by a device or sensor.

These things are usually working together to

create larger solutions by sending and

reacting to data from an eco-system.

HISTORY

•The term "Internet of Things" is

coined by Kevin Ashton 1999.
•Early example, 1982, Coke
machine at Carnegie Mellon
University was connected to
internet.
FEATURES
• It is an over lay on internet of
computers (machine to machine
networks).
• A universal identity GUID [Global
Unique Identification] for each and
every device.
• Every object will have its digital
copy in the cloud which can only
be accessed by its respective
owners.
RFID
RADIO FREQUENCY
IDENTIFICATION

• Widely used in Transport and Logistics

• To identify and track the data of things

• Radio Frequency Identifica- tion (RFID) is

probably the most important basic
technology for the Internet of Things..
BENEFITS OF INTERNET OF
THINGS

Healthcare from anywhere.
Better safety, security and productivity.

•Better environment
Saves natural resources and trees.
Helps in creating a smart, greener and

THINGS
Gadgets of Internet of Things

SmartThings

AutoBot
LIFX light bulb
A energy efficient and wifi enabled light bulb that you
can control from your smartphone – you can even
change colours and mood.
AutoBot
•Alerts relatives in case of an accident.
•Integrated with several web services.
SmartThings

Software that will allow you to control all your

Internet of Things gadgets from one place
Internet Usage and Population
Statistics
Challenges

Systems are needed to help those devices talk to

each other, manage all that data, and enforce proper
access control
If our whole house becomes IoT enabled, could
hackers infiltrate and control our home? Security
issues are going to be a huge challenge, especially
when smart locks are involved.

CONCLUSION

•The internet gave us the opportunity to connect in

ways we could never have dreamed Possible.
•The Internet of Things will take us beyond
