Dermatoglyphics Multiple

Intelligence Test- DMIT

Prepared By- MindTech International

What Is DMIT ?
 DMIT is the scientific study of ridged skin patterns found on fingers,
palms, toes and soles.

 These patterns are formed during the fetal development stage 13 to 21

weeks. The human brain is also developed during this stage

 After 200yrs of scientific research it is proven fact that there are no two
identical fingerprints, patterns remain the same during life time and
even after the complete decomposition of body takes place

 Fingerprints are the product of your genes as well as the environment

of the womb during development in the first trimester (nutrition,
blood pressure, contact with the womb)
History of DMIT
 Sir Francis Galton, a British Anthropologist and a cousin of Charles
Darwin, began his observation of fingerprints as a means of
identification in the 1880’s

 In 1892, he published his book, “Fingerprints”, establishing

individuality and permanence of fingerprints. The book included the
first classification system of fingerprints

 In 1985, Dr. Chen Yi Mou reserched Dermatoglyphics based on

Multiple Intelligence theory of Dr. Howard Gardner and first applied
Dermatoglyphics to educational fields and brain physiology
Why DMIT ?
 DMIT analysis during the age between 1 to 4 yrs helps parents to know
kid’s potentials at the early age. So, parents can take decisions on
parenting styles and educational methods
 DMIT analysis during the age between 4 to 12 yrs helps child in
discovering his/her learning styles and areas of intelligence. It also gives
a clue on what courses and activities he/she should spend more time on
 DMIT analysis during the age 12 to 21 yrs gives ideas to teenager on how
to enhance his/her learning experience and what type of course one
should take
 DMIT analysis for age 21 and above helps adult in understanding his/her
areas of intelligence to take right decision of career. Adult can
understand more about self and communicate better. Thus, he/she can
build better relationship
Why DMIT ?
 During pregnancy period child gets genetic talents from father side
and mother side. This talents are known as “god gifted” or in born
talents

 Circumstances of life and expectations of parents led child to acquire

talent in other selected areas. These types of talents are known as
acquired talents

 Child acquires talents but not necessary he/she is satisfied with that
acquired talents. May be it affects child’s interest after sometime

 Through DMIT his/her inborn talents can be identified in early stage of

childhood. So, child can get success earlier in particular areas
Types of Learning styles
Visuals-
- Uses visuals objects such as graphs, charts, pictures and seeing information
- Can read body language well and has good perception of aesthetics
- Able to memorize and recall various information
- Tends to remember things that are written down
- Learns better in lectures by watching them
. Tips-
- Turn notes into pictures, charts, maps etc.
- Learn the big picture first and then focus on the details
- Make mind and concepts maps instead of outlines
- Color code parts of new concepts in your notes
- Use flash cards when trying to study vocabulary
Types of learning styles
Auditory
- Retains information through hearing and speaking
- Prefers to be told how to do things and then summarize the main points out loud to
help with memorization
- Notices different aspects of speaking
- Often has talents in music and concentrate better with soft playing in the back
ground

. Tips-
- Record lectures and then listen to them
- Repeat material out loud and in your own hands
- Discuss materials in your study groups
- Read text books aloud
- Listen to wordless background music while studying
Types of learning styles
Kinesthetic-
- Likes to use the hands on to approach to learn new things
- Is generally good in math and science
- Like to do demonstration on how to do something rather than verbally explain it
- Usually prefers group work more than others

. Tips-
- Should take study breaks often
- Learn new material while doing something active (e.g. read a textbook while on a
treadmill)
- Work while standing
- Try to take classes with instructors who encourage demonstrations and fieldwork
Types of Intelligence
Linguistic= Word smart
Logical-mathematical= Reasoning/Number smart
Spatial= Picture smart
Bodily-Kinesthetic= Body smart
Musical= Music smart
Interpersonal= People smart
Intrapersonal= Self smart
Naturalist= Nature smart
Linguistic Intelligence
 Involves sensitivity in speaking and writing language. Can use words
very smartly and effectively

 The ability to learn languages and the capacity to use language to

accomplish certain goals

 Linguistic intelligence includes the ability to effectively use language to

express oneself and a language as a means to remember information

 Writers, poets, lawyers and orators are among those who have
linguistic intelligence
Logical-Mathematical intelligence
 This intelligence entails the ability to detect patterns, reason
deductively and think logically

 Consists of the capacity to analyze problems logically, carry out

mathematical operations and investigates the issues scientifically

 Always tries to find solutions logically of every problems and has very
hyper and quick thought process

 Scientists and mathematicians have this kind of intelligence

Spatial intelligence
 Recognizing patterns and relationship in space is easy for this learner.
They can imagine the things very well

 This area deals with spatial judgment and the ability to visualize with
the minds eye. Spatial ability is one of the three factors beneath in the
hierarchical model of intelligence

 Involves the potential to recognize and use the patterns of wide space
and more confined area

 Sketch artists, painters and multimedia activists having this kind of

intelligence
Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence
 Bodily- kinesthetic is the ability to use mental abilities to coordinate
bodily movements

 It entails the potential of using one’s whole body or parts of the body to
solve problems

 Mental and physical activity is related with this intelligence. Maximum

use of whole body or parts of the body

 Sports men, artists, dancers etc. have this kind of intelligence

Musical intelligence
 Musical intelligence encompasses the capacity to recognize and
compose musical pitches, tones and rhythms

 It involves skill in the performance, composition and appreciation of

musical patterns

 Musical intelligence runs in an almost structural parallel to linguistic

intelligence

 Music composers, singers, choreographers have this kind of

intelligence
Interpersonal intelligence
 Interpersonal intelligence allows people to work effectively with others.
Always have desire to share things with others

 It is concerned with the capacity to understand the intentions,

motivations and desires of other people

 Interpersonal intelligence helps people to work well with one another

because they have the ability to relate and understand others

 Educators, salespeople, religious and political leaders and counsellors

have this kind of intelligence
Intrapersonal intelligence
 Intrapersonal intelligence involves having an effective working model
of ourselves and to be able to use such information to regulate our lives

 It entails the capacity to understand oneself, to appreciate one’s

feelings, fears and motivations

 Intrapersonal intelligence motivates learners to reflect and relate

themselves to the greater state of mind

 Intellectuals of different fields have intrapersonal intelligence

Naturalist intelligence
 Naturalist intelligence has to do with nurturing and relating
information to one’s natural surroundings.

 It includes classifying natural forms such as animal, plant species,

rocks and mountain types

 This sort of ecological receptiveness is deeply rooted in a sensitive,

ethical and holistic understanding of the world and its complexities ,
including the role of humanity within the greater ecosphere

 Hunters, farmers, botanists, zoologists have this kind of intelligence
