“I Wish my

Teacher Knew…”
Angelie C. Magluyan, FAA Guidance Coordinator
“Christ’s method alone will give true success in reaching the
people. The Savior mingled with men as one who desired their good.
He showed His sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and
won their confidence. Then He bade them, “Follow Me.”
- Ellen White, Ministry of Healing p 143.I

Why do teachers need
knowledge of basic counseling
skills?
It takes basic counseling skills to make an
effective referral.
Teachers may be asked to provide
intervention to a crisis right away to avoid
undesirable consequences to the student
involved and his immediate surroundings.
Teachers are often in the position to effect
positive change during "teachable moments".
“It is an ironic paradox: being dependent
makes us more independent..”

“He who seeks to transform humanity must himself understand
humanity. Only through sympathy, faith, and love can men be reached and
uplifted. Here Christ stands revealed as the master teacher; of all that ever
dwelt on the earth, He alone has perfect understanding of the human soul.”
