Aerobic Environment

oxygen while transform OM into CO2, H2O and new
cells. Aquatic environment become not viable for
superior forms of life (e.g. fish).
Anaerobic Environment
OM is not completely oxidized. Reduced organic
compounds can be released. Methane and other
organic compounds are formed.
