Introduction
 In the 5th sem., we worked upon a four wheel steering system for automobiles which had various
advantages.
 Working upon same lines we have developed a mechanism for efficient turning in large
connected vehicles like, trucks, trailers and long AC buses.
 The mechanism used here does not involve a differential

Mechanism

  The mechanism features an interlinked turning mechanism that uses a front

motors to power turning of entire vehicle and all its trailing carts such that the
trailing cart follows exact same path of the main cart.
 The mechanism consists of a motorized cart frame connected to another frame
through an interlinked set of connecting rods. The forward frame is fitted with 2
wheel driving motors along with a turning motor.
 The turning motor when rotates the vehicle frame, involuntarily turns the trailing
kart frame so as to align it with the motion and ensures it follows same path.
 The driving motors are used to drive the front kart and thus allows for smooth
motion of the vehicle on roads as if it were following a track.

Analysis-Deformation
Advantages

 Better handling in tight corners

 Improved maneuverability
 Much lower turning radius
 Space required to carry goods decreases
 Compact design
Disadvantages

 The cost of the trolley increases.

 More complex mechanism to the weight of the trolley
 Cost of the trolley is on the higher side
 The linkages are extremely complicated
Conclusion

 From the designing and modelling ,it is concluded that the mechanism is better
suited for tight places
 It is more complex than a regular trolley however is more efficient as well
 The costing of the system will drop over a period of time when the system
becomes more common.
 Force applied is 1000 N
