In extracurricular accomplishments, academic
performance extends to achievement outside the
classroom. One of the activities outside the
classroom is the sports.

INTRODUCTION
Many student cannot maintain the minimum grade
policy. But some of the athletes are really managing their
time to balance their sports and academic performance. In
response to this, the researchers conducted a study about
the Coping Mechanisms of Senior High School Student
Athletes in their Studies.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

The scope of this research is the Senior High
School (SHS) student athletes of Cauayan City
National High School (CCNHS) – Main.
The researchers used purposive sampling to
determine the number of respondents for the study.

Data Analysis
The gathered data and information from the respondents
regarding the coping mechanisms of student athletes on
their studies were coded or indexed in an organized manner
through descriptive and narrative analysis. Interview and
questionnaire were summarized in a concise description and
the results were compiled and interpreted generally by the
researchers.

According to one of the respondents that is a
volleyball player, “Pag mamanage ng oras at iba
pang coping strategy ang nakatulong sa akin para
pag balansehin ang sports at academic
performance ko, gayun din sa mga tulong ng mga
classmates at teacher ko”.

SUMMARY
Based on the data gathered, the selected student
athletes have different coping mechanisms in
balancing their study and sport.

The main objective of this is study to identify
