SIDBI

• Small Industries Development Bank of India is an


independent financial institution aimed to aid the
growth and development of micro, small and
medium scale enterprises in India.
• Set up in APRIL 2 1990 through an act of parliament,
it was incorporated initially as a wholly owned
subsidiary of Industrial Development Bank of India.
• Small Industries Development Bank of India Act,
1989.
Objective: Promotion, Financing & development
of MSMEs and Co-ordinating Functions of
institutions engaged in similar activities.
Ownership : Public sector banks/FIs/Insurance
Cos owned or controlled by the Government of
India.
Structural Linkage: With Ministry of Finance and
Ministry of SSI.
Nodal Agency : For SME Schemes of GoI
