Generator Set, Know the History and Its Use
• What is a Generator Set?

Genset, of course of course this one is familiar to the ear. Genset or which stands for
Generator Set is a device that is capable of producing electricity. This generator is a set or
combination of Generators or Alternators and Engines that can be used as a Power Plant
Tool.
• History of Generator Sets (Generators)

 Before Genset was widely known, Genset was initially discovered by 2 people, the first
being Michael Faraday and Rudolph Diesel. In 1831 Faraday discovered
electromagnetic induction which later developed into a Modern Generator, Michael
Faraday himself is now a very well-known physicist figure. As for its continuation,
Rudolph Diesel was the inventor of the Diesel Generator itself, where he began issuing
his machine-engine patents in 1892.
 Given the magnitude of the benefits of the Generator Set itself, the Electricity
Generating Machine is then developed and produced in Bulk so that it can now be
easily found. Some examples of places that are usually in desperate need of generators
are banks, hospitals, supermarkets, hotels, malls / plazas, offices, shops, and not even
house houses often use this generator for electricity when needed, especially when PLN
electricity goes out.
• Use of Genset

When talking about generators, the thing that comes to mind is a device to turn on the
lights when the electricity goes out. Well, that's right, even though the purpose is not only
to focus solely on lights or lighting, but many other things that require electrical power,
such as for outdoor work that is far from electricity. Genset is very well known because its
use as Electric Power can be relied upon simply by using Gasoline / Solar Fuel.
With the help of Genset, large and small company companies, such as supermarkets,
shops, hospitals, etc., their activities are not disturbed when the electricity goes out. They
can still carry out activities as usual without experiencing obstacles. Therefore Genset is an
important tool that is needed by many people, it can even be used individually for various
activities that require Electric Power Consumption.
• Genset Work System

The Generator Set consists of the Engine (Drive Motor) and also the Generator /
Alternator, as explained earlier. This one engine uses fuel in the form of diesel (diesel
engine) or can also use gasoline, while for the generator itself is a coil of wire made from
copper consisting of a static coil or stator and also equipped with a spinning coil or rotor.
 In the process of work, according to physics, the Engine rotates the Rotor in a
Generator which in turn causes a Magnetic Field in the generator coil section.
Then this Magnetic Field will then interact with the Rotor which will then rotate
and will produce an electric current where this is in accordance with Lorentz's
law.
 The importance of the benefits of the Generator Set Machine is one reason why
this Generator Set or Genset is very well known by the public, so what if you

unexpected situations. How to determine the size of the generator that fits your

of 200 hours per year. You can use the capacity with standby power to when
something happens (emergency) or when the power source suddenly goes out.
Maybe this standby power capacity is a type of generator that is most
commonly used in offices, hotels, hospitals, apartments or shop houses. And
the last is Continuous Power is the calculation of the value of power generator
that can be used constantly at 100% and knows no time limit. Continuous
power is recommended for those who want to operate the generator engine
continuously or continuously like when you want to run an electro motor or
dynamo.
