Basic guide to

make a good
cv
Organizational Communication
Summer 2020
At the time of writing your CV, you
must use technical and conventional
language words that present your
information coherently and logically.
1. the file in PDF format

I consider that it is very important how

you send your file because it usually
happens that the formats move when you
use different font styles, sizes, and boxes.
2. JUST ONE
PAGE
Make sure that your CV only covers one page,
at most two. Everything fits in a small cup
knowing how to accommodate it, but don't
abuse piling up the data or leaving half a sheet
of space between one section and another.
3. Your name as the
header
Include your full name and a font size 16 to
20, try to keep it in one line. Below you can
mention your profession, for example:

GONZALO GÓMEZ LUNA

Accountant.
4. Recent photo

Recent color photo, with a neutral background

and good lighting, that the shot is from the
shoulders up (ask someone to take it), poses
naturally and with a comfortable expression
for you in front of the camera.
5. personal information

The personal information that is currently

relevant includes mail, cell phone (if it is
difficult for you to be contacted there
because of your work hours, including an
extra number or messages), current
location.
6. objective
Make your goal short but try to include your
job expectations or areas of interest. We all
seek professional growth, but it is your
opportunity to show what area you want to
specialize in.
7. Work
experience

Describe your work experience starting with the

latest.
The following format is recommended:

Job name + company + period (month and year).

List your activities in bullet points.
LANGUAG
E

For language, It’s not necessary to put the

mother tongue, but rather your opportunity
to highlight the second language you have
learned: language + mastery level (basic,
intermediate, advanced).
9. professional skills
Include your main professional
skills:

•Effective communication
•Problem resolution
•Proactivity
10. other
knowledge

You can put software / tools /

programs. (Don’t forget to mention the
level of mastery). Courses, workshops,
updates, etc.
11. spelling and writing
THAN
KS
GONZALO GÓMEZ LUNA
