How to spot a trend?

on a one ½ sheet of Paper reflect on the questions about trends spotting. Answer
the following questions in not more than three sentences.
1. When you identify a trend, what might have caused this trend to start?
2. How long will it probably last?
3. What effects will it probably have?
4. Can you adapt to fit this trend?
A trend is a sequential patterns of change in
recorded data which can be measured at least
two points overtime.

Projecting trends
When a trend is identified the logical next
step is to ask, “ Where is this trend heading in
the future?”
Drivers, Enablers, Friction and
Blocker.
The forces of change behind a trend is
called change drivers that makes change
what they are. While change drivers are
is a power for change , an empowering
influence (enablers) is a component that
advances and encourage driver.
Friction is the resistance to change that occurs
naturally and inevitably due to learned habits of
seeing and doing things.

Blockers may take the form of new law, politicking,


street protest and other factors. They occur when
people try to stop change or delay it.
