Five friends – P, Q, R, S and T – went to Hyderabad and bought one book each of iQuanta CAT series from among QA, RC, LR, GK and GDP at prices Rs.100, Rs. 70,
Rs. 80, Rs. 90 and Rs. 50 – not necessarily in the same order. After reading the books, each of them sold his/her book at a different price from among Rs.100, Rs.
70, Rs. 80, Rs. 90 and Rs. 50. Following information is also available.
(i) The absolute difference between the buying and the selling price of a book bought by any friend is denoted by ‘x’. The maximum possible value of x was Rs.30.
(ii) QA was sold at Rs.20 less than the price at which RC was sold.
(iii) The absolute difference between the buying prices of GK and LR was the same as the absolute difference between the buying prices of LR and RC, with RC
having the highest buying price among these three books.
(iv) None of the books was sold at a price equal to its buying price.
(v) S sold his book, GK, at a price that was Rs. 40 less than the price at which Q bought “LR”.
