Methods.

– Bernard Tschumi, 0ne, two, three: Jump.

Today’s Situation (KU)
• The present curriculum is well structured
• And coordinated
• Sessionals are well emphasized
• Equipped with Contextual theories
• Environmental issues are addressed

• But, it is over burdened with credit-hours.
• Architectural subjects are neglected
• Optional subjects are creating jam
• Sketches, graphic designs are absent!
• Structure subjects are less understood by
students

Goal and Objective
• Rethink about our curriculum
• The objectives are:
– To eliminate unnecessary credit-hour burdens.
– To emphasize Design work
– To improve year to year coordination through central Idea
– To establish Design work is not as “problem solving” but as
“questions” to find and address
– To stress Architectural theories needed for design studios
– To establish link with practice and generate practice within
and out of academy

What to do in design?
• To teach the students a common • By following the central ideas
language and objectives of each studio

• To establish a design culture • By generating discussions

beyond class
• To develop student’s attitude • By arranging exhibitions
for criticism, interpretation and
choice

• To allow students for self-

training
• By Arranging competitions!
– Givianni Salvestrini, The teaching
method
