ABSTRACT A GESTURE CONTROLLED ROBOT IS CONTROLLED BY USING HAND IN PLACE OF ANY OTHER METHOD LIKE BUTTONS OR JOYSTICK. HERE ONE ONLY NEEDS TO MOVE HAND TO CONTROL THE ROBOT. A TRANSMITTING DEVICE IS USED IN YOUR HAND WHICH CONTAINS RF TRANSMITTER AND ACCELEROMETER. THIS WILL TRANSMIT COMMAND TO ROBOT SO THAT IT CAN DO THE REQUIRED TASK LIKE MOVING FORWARD, REVERSE, TURNING LEFT, TURNING RIGHT AND STOP. ALL THESE TASKS WILL BE PERFORMED BY USING HAND GESTURE. IN THIS PROJECT WE HAVE ALSO ADDED SERVO MOTORS AND WATER PUMP TO MODIFY THIS GESTURE CONTROLLED BOT INTO HOUSE CLEANING GESTURE CONTROLLED BOT SO THAT IT CAN BE AN ALTERNATIVE FOR CONVENTIONAL FLOOR CLEANING MACHINE. • GESTURE RECOGNITION IS ONE OF THE ESSENTIAL TECHNIQUES TO BUILD USER-FRIENDLY
INTERFACES. IT IS PROCESS BY WHICH THE GESTURES MADE BY THE USER ARE RECOGNIZED BY THE RECEIVER. IN A GESTURE CONTROLLED ROBOT WE TRANSMIT A COMMAND TO THE ROBOT BY USING HAND GESTURE SO THAT IT CAN DO THE REQUIRED TASK. • FLOOR CLEANER ALONG WITH HAND GESTURE IS A COMPACT ROBOTIC SYSTEM WHICH PROVIDES FLOOR CLEANING SERVICE IN ROOM AND BIG OFFICES THUS REDUCING HUMAN LABOUR. BASICALLY AS A ROBOT, IT ELIMINATES A HUMAN ERROR AND PROVIDE CLEANING ACTIVITY WITH MUCH MORE EFFICIENCY. IT ALSO HAS AN ADVANTAGE THAT IT IS SMALL AND COMPACT IN SIZE SO, WE CAN CARRY IT AND PLACE IT WHERE EVER WE WANT. THE FLEXIBILITY, TIME SAVING AND EFFICIENCY ALONG WITH GESTURE CONTROL MAKES THE ROBOT A PERFECT CHOICE FOR CLEANING. WORKING GESTURE CONTROLLED ROBOT MOVES ACCORDING TO HAND MOVEMENT AS WE PLACE TRANSMITTER IN OUR HAND. WHEN WE TILT HAND IN FRONT SIDE, ROBOT START TO MOVING FORWARD AND CONTINUES MOVING FORWARD UNTIL NEXT COMMAND IS GIVEN. WHEN WE TILT HAND IN BACKWARD SIDE, ROBOT CHANGE ITS STATE AND START MOVING IN BACKWARDS DIRECTION UNTIL OTHER COMMAND IS GIVEN. WHEN WE TILT IT IN LEFT SIDE ROBOT GET TURN LEFT TILL NEXT COMMAND. WHEN WE TILT HAND IN RIGHT SIDE ROBOT TURNED TO RIGHT. AND FOR STOPPING ROBOT WE KEEPS HAND IN STABLE. SERVO MOTOR ATTACHED AT THE REAR END OF THE ROBOT WILL HOLD THE MOP SO THAT THE MOP CAN MOVE ALL AROUND THE FLOOR. A SMALL WATER INLET PIPE IS ATTACHED NEAR THE MOP. THE WATER FLOW WILL BE CONTROLLED AND WILL FLOW FOR 2 SECONDS AT AN INTERVAL OF 5 SECONDS, THIS WILL ENSURE THAT THE MOP DOES NOT GET DRY AND HENCEFORTH ENSURES PROPER CLEANING OF THE FLOOR. THE HOUSE CLEANING GESTURE ROBOT IS INTELLIGENTLY PROGRAMMED TO
CLEAN A LARGE AREA USING A MOP. IT IS COST EFFECTIVE, CONVENIENT, ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY THAT SAVES THE VALUABLE TIME OF ANY PERSON. WITH SIMPLE ALGORITHM AND PROGRAM CODE, THE ROBOT WILL BE ABLE TO COVER LARGE FLOOR AREAS. THE EXISTING SYSTEM FOR CLEANING IS LABORIOUS AND WORK DEMANDING. THEREFORE, CLEANING ROBOT WITH GESTURE CONTROL CAN BE USED TO MAKE CLEANING PROCESS EASIER AND FASTER THAN USING THE MANUAL TECHNIQUE. FUTURE EXTENSION
WE PLAN TO INTEGRATE THIS BOT WITH AN ANDROID APPLICATION THROUGH
WHICH THE USER CAN CONTROL THE FLOW OF WATER THROUGH THE WATER PUMP ACCORDING TO THE NEEDS OF THE USER. THE ANDROID APPLICATION WILL ALSO INDICATE THE WATER LEVEL IN THE WATER STORAGE AREA OF THE ROBOT AND AS SOON AS THE WATER LEVEL GOES LOW IT WILL SEND THE USER AN ALERT SO THAT THE USER CAN REFILL THE WATER STORAGE UNIT OF THE ROBOT SO AS TO ENSURE PROPER CLEANING.
