Proactive Pandemic Strategies: theirry delaporte ceo

“Don’t react to COVID-19. Instead, Reassess, Respond, and

Recalibrate”

The path forward is to reassess, respond, and recalibrate.

1. REASSESS:Building an Intelligent Enterprise will be critical in the future.

Some organizations are already on the path, others are just beginning their
journey. But regardless of the stage of maturity, now is the time to accelerate
your efforts. Look for quick wins that drive cost savings and efficiency.
REASSESS IN ACTION
An insights-driven, automated contact tracing solution for an energy provider to
minimize the health risk of its field employees. By leveraging Wipro’s operating
analytics solution on its existing enterprise data infrastructure, the solution was up and
running to help leaders make critical business decisions in less than two weeks.

2. RESPOND: Responsiveness requires agility built on solid data, clear processes, and
scenario modelled planning that enables more trustworthy forecasting.

RESPOND IN ACTION
Business users at a global technology major wanted to make faster decisions even in
the face of uncertainty and frequently changing business plans. Wipro helped them
build agile and real-time planning and forecasting processes. Scalable, customizable,
and platform agnostic with KPI transparency across business functions, it delivered a
50% faster planning cycle, 35% more accurate forecasting, and 2x faster aggregations.
3. RECALIBRATE:Some executives may be tempted to operate purely
defensively with the goal of simply surviving the storm. But this will quickly
look short-sighted when the world settles back to some kind of new normal.

RECALIBRATE IN ACTION
More than 250 nursing homes and hospitals facing a shortage of resources
needed to ensure timely delivery of critical food services. Leveraging Wipro’s
end-to-end Data, Analytics, and Automation and Data Discovery platform, we
delivered the solution in just 24 hours.
Work From Policies
1.    TECH WILL EVOLVE EVEN FASTER

A portfolio of critical and interrelated new technologies are evolving at warp speed.

Here are several:

Cloud computing: Moving closer to the edge to accommodate the speed and latency

of 5G, and infrastructure architectures must adapt.

Data analytics: Understanding and manipulating data won’t be confined

to programmers and IT analysts. It must be embraced by employees across the
enterprise. How can we embed it into every sort of decision-making?

Artificial intelligence: Expertise in AI is now table stakes for business success, but

many organizations remain behind. Without it, organizations can’t benefit from the 5G
and IoT data explosion.
AR and VR: Its development will surely accelerate, as pressure grows for
tools and “contactless” applications that accommodate health concerns for both
consumers and workers.

5G wireless: The biggest single new change in the landscape. Now it will develop faster,

as organizations take every means to increase their resilience, and to make work
more boundary-less.

·Internet of Things: Capabilities are emerging everywhere, accelerated by 5G.

2.    EMPLOYEES MUST WORK IN NEW
WAYS, AND LEARN NEW SKILLS

• Employees need to be more flexibly aligned

• Automation becomes key

• Bonding matters

• Communication and information sharing are key. Dell has developed and actively supports an
Employee Resource Group (ERG) called Conexus that champions a flexible work community by
creating a collaborative work environment. Participation in the group gives our team members an
outlet to share their experiences, questions, and success stories, and provides valuable resources.

• Autonomy and self-discipline are absolute requirements for remote workers. We look also for
people who are proactive in their approach to their lives and their work.
3.    WE NEED NEW TOOLS TO SUPPORT
THE NEW WAYS OF WORKING

A. Collaborative technologies:We may need some kind of hybrid (software that

cobine of both native apps and web applications)software platform to bring
GitHub-like collaboration to every workplace, combined with Zoom-like video
conferencing, but all of it effortlessly integrated into our workspaces.

B. Better connectivity: Everybody is going to need better wireless and wired

networks.

C. Digitization of apps
WORK FROM HOME POLICY OF
DELL(MICHEAL S DELL –CEO) 1984

Policy Adherence and Expectations:

• Team members approved for the Connected Workplace program are expected to
maintain normal productivity and performance.

• They must not carry out work for anyone other than Dell nor, without prior
permission, undertake non-work related activities during their working hours.

• Participation in the Connected Workplace program is not an opportunity to

perform household duties, care for children or other dependents, or attend to other
personal business.
• Team members must use Personal Business Allowance 40 hours a year
(PBA) or other Paid Time Off (PTO) benefits, for absences from work
for childcare, personal business, illness, etc.

• Team members should liaise with their leader about their patterns of
work and days in the office and will be responsible for keeping their
leader and team informed about the status of their work.

• Team members must work with their leader to accommodate

themselves for on-site meetings or trainings as required by their role.

• Team members must accurately report all time worked no matter the
work location.
As the world shifts from response to recovery, our focus remains on team

safety, community support, innovative technology for a cure, billions in

financing and business continuity for customers. Together, we’ll all emerge

stronger and more connected.

THE NEW NORMAL: PERSPECTIVES ON WHAT’S TO COME AND HOW
WE’LL ADAPT

1. We’ll have a larger remote workforce, expanding talent pools and reducing
environmental impact:

At Dell Technologies, we had already been leaning into flexible work. Before March 15,
when we announced a global work-from-home policy, 65% of team members were
leveraging our flexible work policies, and we had approximately 30% of team members
working remotely on any given day. Our connected workplace infrastructure set us up
well for the unexpected – over a weekend, our IT team had 120,000 people up and
running to work remotely. Today more than 90% of our workforce is remote.
2. Global supply chains will undergo rapid transformation – diverse,
resilient and digital:

We’ve got powerful data sets that give us real-time visibility, intelligence and

automation across planning and delivery, procurement, manufacturing and

warehousing. We can apply predictive analytics to model a variety of outcomes to

make smart decisions with speed. And with the world shifting to an accelerated

digital existence – an automated, intelligent, visible and secure supply chain will

be paramount to business continuity.

3. The 4th industrial revolution will arrive faster and gives us a path to economic
recovery:

The shift to a remote workforce and the “just stay home” movement have

underscored the importance of digital transformation for organizations – to innovate

and rapidly put technology to work to create new ways of doing business.

4. To protect the health and safety of all attendees, Dell-owned events will be virtual

through the end of 2020. Dell participation in non-Dell owned events will align with

the latest company travel and work-from-home policies.
