Colors- In French • Colors can have masculine and feminine forms/singular or plural
forms based off the noun they are describing.
• Ex: Un chat noir
ms. fs. mp. fp.

Feminine and Masculine

forms are the same

For the feminine form you add an e at the end.

All of the words follow the same plural pattern
except for grey mp.

In both, 2 letters are added for the

fs. Form.

These stay the same no matter what

form.
Introductions

Masculine:
-s
You are
-ain
-en

Feminine:
-se
-aine
-enne
Quelle est la date? Sentence Examples:

• Aujourd’hui est lundi.

• Vous avez (you have) un examen sur (on) jeudi.

• Je préfère (I prefer) samedi.

Ways to remember:
1. All of the days of the week end with a “di” except
Sunday (Dimanche).
2. Tuesday and Wednesday start with an “m” and
Tuesday is shorter than Wednesday (like in
English).
3. Lundi (Monday) starts with an “L” which can
also represent how bad of a day Monday is
because it “took the L”.
4. To remember Saturday, notice how in both
languages it starts with an “s”

• All the months start with the same letter as in

English.
• Only February, August, and December have accents
in them.
• July is not pronounced “julliet” it’s pronounced “joo-
e-ay”.
• Example: Ce mois est (This month is) août.
• Example: Mon anniversaire est en (My birthday is
in) novembre.

• Day- Jour (m.) Date structure:

• Week- Semaine (f.)

• Today- Aujourd’hui (adverb) It’s May

• Tomorrow- Demain (adverb) Meaning: It’s the 17th of May
• It’s- C’est Remember: Date first, then month, then
year.

Examples: • C’est le seize août.

1. Il y a sept jours dans (in) la semaine.
• C’est le quatorze février.
2. Demain, c’est vendredi.
• C’est le six juin.
When asked for 1/__ use “premier”.
