The people near the coast, called the Yligueynes, believed that heaven and earth had no

beginning, and that there were two gods, one called Captan and the other god Maguayen.

They believe that the breeze produced a reed, which was planted by the god Captan. When the reed
grew, it split into two sections, forming a male and a female. To the man they gave the name of Sicalac, and
to the woman they called Sicavay, and from then on the women were called babayes.

One day the man asked the woman to marry him, because there was no one else in the world; but
he refused, saying that they were brothers, born of the same reed, that there was only a knot between
them but they sought advice from the tunnies of the sea, the doves of the wind and the earthquake,
saying that it was necessary that they should marry, so that the world may revolve.

They were blessed with offspring of men and women and gave them the name and Sibo Samar, who had
a son called lupluban who married Pandaguan. They had a son called Anoranor.

Pandaguan first created a net for fishing in the sea and, the first time he used it, he caught a shark and
brought it to shore, thinking it would not die. But the shark died when it was brought ashore.

Pandaguan cried and mourned and complained against the gods for the death of the shark. Captan heard
this, sent flies to find out who died. However, the flies did not follow so Captan cursed the flies for
disobeying it. Because of the wrath of the Gods Captan and Maguayen, it caused a thunderstorm and
lightning that killed Pandaguan. Pandaguan remained in the place of the deceased called infernal,
mourning and weeping. By the mercy of the gods Captan was resurrected, and returned to the world.

While Pandaguan was dead, his wife Lubluban married a man called Maracoyrun; and these people say
that at that time concubinage began in the World. Anoranor was very happy to see his father Pandaguan
again, so he sent his son to fetch Lubluban, but he refused to go home, saying that the dead did not
return to the world.

With this answer Pandaguan became angry and returned to the infernal regions. People believe that, if
his wife obeys his calls, and he does not return to this time, all the dead will live again.
