Introduction

The first step in distributing food (vegetables) is the


procurement of foodstuffs at the time of purchase, where this
step must be considered so that food safety is maintained
when consumed physically, chemically and microbiologically.
 Langkah pertama dalam pendistribusian pangan (sayuran)
adalah pengadaan bahan pangan pada saat pembelian, dimana
langkah ini harus diperhatikan agar
 keamanan pangan tetap terjaga baik secara fisik, kimiawi
maupun mikrobiologis.

Introduction

 Washing vegetables is an important thing


especially for vegetables that are usually used
as fresh vegetables (raw).
 • A good step for washing vegetables is by
washing them in running tap water, washing
each sheet, then dipping them briefly in hot
water or rinsing using boiled water so that
microbes or other substances that may stick
with the water flow (Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention,Ascariasis. 2013).
Introduction
 Currently, the owner of the land built by the
vegetable traders' stalls, namely PT Angkasa Pura,
has provided a tub for washing vegetables which was
inaugurated in 2019. However, until now the traders
still wash their vegetables in the gutters around the
stalls.
 • This is very worrying because there is no warning
or education
about the dangers of washing unhygienic foodstuffs.
 • Until now, many buyers continue to buy
vegetables at the Kartama vegetable stall,
Marpoyan. Good for personal consumption or
resale.

Purpose

1. Analyze the metal content, microbes and worm eggs of the


studied vegetables
2. Know the specific types of bacteria found in the studied
vegetables
Benefit of
Research
1.To raise awareness and educate the public about the importance
of keeping the vegetables purchased clean and how to wash
vegetables properly.

2. to educate the public about the effects of eating


vegetables fertilized with pesticides
Hipotesis

• contamination from chemicals can be found in lettuce and cabbage, because


heavy metals easily accumulate in the edible area leafy vegetables, compared
to whole grains or fruit crops (Mapanda, 2005).
• contamination from bacteria can be found in fresh vegetables. This is supported
by the research of Susilawati (2001) who found Salmonella content in fresh
vegetables and at the merchant level in Bogor. Supported by the theory of the
Journal of Food Safety (2011) which states Contamination of water sources by
pathogenic bacteria, indicates poor microbiological quality and possibly the
result of fecal contamination.
• All of thevegetables were contaminated by helminth eggs. Reashnaa (2016),
found contaminated by helminth eggs in the cabbage (Brasicca oleracea).

OBSERVATION ANDVEGETABLE SAMPLE TAKING
 Observations / observations were made in the morning when new vegetables were brought in and the traders
washed the vegetables in the ditches around Kartama, Marpoyan Damai.
 The locations of vegetable planting were traced
 They were then kept in the refrigerator and immediately brought to the laboratory
 Samples were taken of each vegetable from 3 different vegetable stalls (Random)
OBSERVATIONS IN THE LAB
1. Metal analysis using a spectrophotometer
2. Microbial analysis using agar media, to analyze the specific species (Genetic) PCR
3. Analysis of worm eggs, descriptive analysis by staining (centrifugation)
