Measure DC Voltage with 375
• DC Voltage measurement (HART Terminals)
To check the device voltage:

Schlumberger Private
• From the HART main menu, double tap “UTILITY”
• Double tap “HART Diagnostics”
• Double tap DC Voltage Measurement. The voltage measurement
is displayed. Tap OK when done viewing the measurement. Exit
the Hart Terminal Voltage menu and re enter the refresh screen.
Voltage measurements are for reference purposes only.

Troubleshooting
• Loops
– Verify the HART loop current and voltage on the field device.
– Inspect loop wiring for problems.

Schlumberger Private
– Verify that the loop wiring has a minimum 250 ohm resistance.
• Resistance = Voltage / Current
• Loop current flow minimum voltage for 250 ohms
– 4mA 1V, 8mA 2V, 12mA 3V, 16mA 4V, 20mA 5V.

If the V across the device is greater than the value listed for a given I then the
device has ay least 250 of internal resistance.
If the V is less then more resistance is needed, add to the the loop.

Troubleshooting
• Noise
– Use an oscilloscope to look for noise on the loop.

Schlumberger Private
– The oscilloscope should have differential mode or be battery
powered to avoid grounding one side of loop.
– Noise with a frequency of 500Hz to 10,000Hz is of
particular interest, as this represents frequencies near the
HART frequencies of 1200 and 2200hz.
