Through anthropology, one can
thoroughly analyze the different
phenomena that happen in society.
It produces knowledge about what
makes people different from one
another and what they all share in
common.

 Physical Anthropologist
◦ Focus on humans as biological organism
 Cultural Anthropologist

◦ Investigates the contrasting ways of groups of


people think, feel, and behave.
 Archeology

◦ Try to recover information about human cultures by


studying material samples
 Linguistic Anthropology

◦ Study the nature and nuances of languages –


communication systems by which cultures are
maintained and passed on to succeeding generation.

The primary purpose is to explain how
different elements in the environment affect
and influence the growth and life of a
person.
Sociologist examine and present
new insights and perspective of
society such as culture, gender,
race and ethnicity, social
movements, class, crimes etc.
It also seeks to explain the bases
of social order and social change.
In studying society, grounding
arguments on your experience is not
enough. You must look at society in a
sociological perspective. Detach
yourself from your society so that
you can observe it from an objective
point of view.

POLITICAL SCIENCE
Systematic study of politics, its
institution and process.
It is a complex institution that has a
power and authority to manage a
large number of people.
It primary focuses on the “power”.

One must have a full knowledge


of all the process related to
government before he/she can be
part of it.
It covers matters relating to the
allocation of power, roles and
systems of governance, political
behavior and public policies.

equality, freedom and justice
and its process are linked to the
dynamics of conflict,
resolution, and cooperation.
