ASSIGNMENT 2: Thesis plan

Write a thesis plan.


Use the given word-template (available in Guide for thesis writers). Erase the
instructions before you return the assignment to Optima: 
1. Fill in the title page. Form a preliminary title for your thesis (you may change it
later if necessary).
2. Fill in the abstract form: basic information and the first paragraph. Follow
instructions given on the word-template.
3. Make a preliminary table of contents.
4. Write the first chapter 1 INTRODUCTION as instructed in Guide for Thesis and
Academic Writing. E.g. describe briefly the topic and why you want to choose it,
what is the starting point or scope etc. relevant information. Describe the aim of
the thesis, research question(s) or tasks or the steps of the project and describe
how you aim to reach the goal, e.g. write about the steps of the thesis to proceed.
Also, describe briefly the background of the topic, methods to be used. Introduce
the (potential) thesis commissioner, if available.
5. The second chapter 2: form a content-based heading. Write some basic
information of the theoretical framework, mark in-text references and the list of
references (REFERENCES), as instructed in Guide for Thesis and Academic Writing.

And, if you wish (you can remove this part later from you thesis):
6. Goal of the final grade? (scale 1-5).
7. Who can assist, guide and support you? Is there anyone, a student or a friend,
who can be your tutor or peer evaluator?
8. Any wishes concerning the supervisor?
Assessment criteria
• Write the report according to the given instructions in Guide for
Thesis and Academic Writing and MBA Guide. Use the word-template
(available in Optima).
• Include in-text references and the list of references in your report.
And note, they have to match with one another.
• Paraphrase theorerical text and separate your own text clearly from
the paraphrased sentences.
• Assessment scale:
• Satisfactory 1 – 2: Text is descriptive. The given instructions have
been utilized partly. Some technical errors occur. Some lacks in
paraphrasing occur.
• Good 3 – 4: Text is analytic. The given instructions have been utilized
well. Paraphrasing is used and in-text references and the list of
references are mostly correctly stated. The text is mostly professional
and fluent. Limited amount of plagiarized sentences.
• Excellent 5: Text is analytic and evaluative. The given instructions
have been utilized very well. The text is very professional and fluent.
Flawless use of in-text references and the list of references. No
plagiarized text (Urkund “green”).
