COAL FEEDER

CALIBRATION
Name: Tan Ming Jun
Position: Trainee
Tachometer
■ A tachometer is an instrument that
measures the working speed of a
rotating body
■ Can sometimes be used to measure
the length of the rotating body
■ Usually displays displays the
revolutions per minute (RPM) on a
calibrated analogue dial
Tachometer (Coal Feeder)
■ Tachometer to measure the speed of
the conveying belt of coal feeder
■ Tachometer to measure the length
of the conveying belt of coal feeder
■ Unit of measurement is pulse per
belt revolution (PPR)
Measurement of Belt Length

■ Measure and record the length of

the newly replaced belt with a
digital tape measure
Measurement of Belt Length

■ Select manual calibration and set

speed running at 25%
Verify Alignment of load cells
roller with feeder belt

■ Use a measuring device(ruler) on

the conveying belt to ensure the
alignment is consistent
Speed Calibration

■ Select speed calibration mode

■ Record the old and new speed unit
in pulses/ belt rev (PPR)
Zero Calibration
■  Select
■ zero calibration mode and
ensure belt is empty
■ Record the old and new results and
compare the difference(%) and
accept when error
■ Repeat the process again, twice but
do not accept the result in
tachometer(just to ensure
repeatability)
Weight Calibration

■ A weight (17kg) is applied on the

load cell
Weight Calibration
■  Select
■ weight calibration mode
■ Record the old and new results and
compare the difference(%) and
accept when error
■ Repeat the process again, twice but
do not accept the result in
tachometer(just to ensure
repeatability)
E-Cal Factor
■ Select E-Cal Factor mode with
empty belt
■ Accept the differences and record
the old and new live load values in
mV/V
E-Cal Procedure
■ Select E-cal Procedure mode with
empty belt
■ Do not accept the procedure (Verify
%diff <0.1%)
■ Record old and new value of scale
factor
■ If error >0.1%, recheck speed,zero
and weight calibration
