Created to be

Prosperous
Post Encounter
1 Timothy 6:17
True riches are in God,
not in material things.

Prov 3:9-10 Honor God with

everything you own; give
Him the first and the best.
Your barns will BURST, your
wine vats will brim over.
Hannah: A Woman who
changed her destiny…
through her offering
1. Your offering changes your
destiny.
2. Your offering has POWER!!!
3. God provides.
Abel: The Man whose
offering pleased God
ABEL’S OFFERING (Gen 4)
What made his offering the right
offering: Hebrews 11:4
By faith Abel offered to God a better
sacrifice than Cain, through which
he obtained the testimony that he
was righteous, God testifying
about his gifts, and through faith,
though he is dead, he still speaks.
1. VOLUNTARY
To offer is an act of our
will.
Through it we express
the gratitude we have
for the person to whom
it is being offered.
-God was pleased with Abel
because he gave an offering
voluntarily to God, just like a
child who knows how to let go
of what he loves.

-Cain did what a child usually

does, who holds on to what he
loves most.
2. MORE EXCELLENT
An excellent offering has a price.
The greater the offering, the higher
the cost.

Mark 12:30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE

LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR
HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL,
AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH
ALL YOUR STRENGTH.'
-A good offering is a message
of love where we combine
our spiritual, emotional and
physical into one.

-When we give something to

God, we don’t wait to receive
something for it, but rather
we’re giving Him our worship,
and our love.
3. SACRIFICE
Abel understood that the right
offering implied sacrifice

John 3:16 "For God so loved the

world, that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him shall not perish,
but have eternal life.”
Everytime we give to
God, let us remember
how much He gave to
us on the cross.
4. HE WAS CALLED BY GOD AS
RIGHTEOUS
-Abel’s offering was a greater
testimony before God. His
testimony showed him to be
righteous.
-When God tried Abraham and
was willing to sacrifice his son,
God was so pleased with this
that He said to him,
"By Myself I have sworn, says the
LORD, because you have done this
thing, & have not withheld your son,
your only son, blessing I will bless you,
& multiplying I will multiply your
descendants as the stars of the heaven
& as the sand which is on the seashore;
& your descendants shall possess the
gate of their enemies.”
Gen. 22:16-17
5. AN OFFERING SPEAKS EVEN
AFTER DEATH
“The memory of the righteous is
blessed but the name of the
wicked will rot” Prov. 10:7

What immortalized Abel was the

kind of offering he gave.
GOD TESTIFIES OF YOUR
OFFERINGS
Our offering become
arguments in our favor.

Luke 7:5-6 The secret of the

centurion!!!!
RICHES COME FROM GOD
When we understand that
riches come from God and
that only from Him all things
proceed, we will be able to
have a generous and giving
heart toward Him.
I Chronicles 29:12 Both
riches and honor come from
You and You reign over all.
In Your hand is power and
might; and in Your hand it is
to make great and to give
strength to all.
David’s Prayer
“I know also my God, that You test
the heart and uprightness. As for
me, in the uprightness of my heart
I have willingly offered all these
things; and now with joy I have
seen Your people, who are present
here to offer willingly to You.” 1
Chronicles 29:17
WITH THIS PRAYER OF DAVID, WE
CAN SEE THAT:
1. God Examines Hearts
The widow’s mite offering was
superior to those who seemed to
be giving generously.

He doesn’t want our surplus or

leftovers!
2. God is Pleased With
The Righteous
Integrity is a result of generosity
Cain’s selfishness destroyed him
Judas’ greed annihilated him
3. GIVING VOLUNTARILY
Solomon was able to build
God’s temple through the
voluntary giving of the
people.
4. GIVING SPONTANEOUSLY &
GENEROUSLY
The spontaneous offering is that
which the people give
deliberately, they give out of
generosity.

The generous soul will be made

rich, And he who waters will also
be watered himself. Proverbs 11:25
2 Cor 9:7-8 [So let] each one
[give] as he purposes in his
heart, not grudgingly or of
necessity; for God loves a
cheerful giver.   And God [is]
able to make all grace abound
toward you, that you, always
having all sufficiency in all
[things,] may have an
abundance for every good work.
LEARNING TO TITHE
For Israel it has always been
very normal and habitual to
separate the 10th part of their
income for the work of God.

Tithing is not a suggestion, it’s

a command. It is NORMAL!
Bring all the tithes into the
storehouse, that there may be
food in My house, try Me now
in this, says the Lord of hosts,
if I will not open for you the
windows of heaven & pour out
for you a blessing that there
will not be room enough to
receive it.
And I will rebuke the devourer
for your sakes, so that he will
not destroy the fruit of your
ground, nor shall the vine fail to
bear fruit for you in the field,
says the Lord of hosts; & all
nations will call you blessed, for
you will be a delightful land, says
the Lord of hosts. Malachi 3:10-
12
God prepared several blessings that will
only be received by those who have
learned the importance of tithing:

Bring the tithe to the storehouse:

The store house represents the
church or the place where you are
being spiritually edified. That is
where you should take your tithe.
There is food in my house.
Those that do the work of
God are supported by the
tithes.
Try me. This is the only text where
God invites his children to try His
faithfulness towards those that are
obedient in giving.

The Lord Himself COMMITS to open

the windows of heaven in response
to our tithes and offerings and to
pour out blessings upon us until
they overflow.
I will also rebuke the
devourer for your sakes.

The devourer is the spirit of

ruin, the one that the Lord
Himself has made a
commitment to separate
us from.
And all nations will call you
blessed.
The blessing will be so clear
that it will extend to other
nations and they will see
God’s favor towards each of
His children.
You will be a delightful land.

This happens only when the

curse has been taken off and
the blessing is restored to
our territory.
Not Tithing Is Stealing
From God
Malachi 3:8 "Will a man rob
God? Yet you have robbed
Me! But you say, 'In what way
have we robbed You?' In
tithes and offerings.
Opportunities for offering: Biblical
definition/breakdown of tithes:
• 1. Levites – pastors, missionaries,
workers, teachers, & their needs,
allowances, benefits
• 2. Celebration – anniversary,
Christmas, major events, etc
• 3. Stranger/Evangelism – Life
Mtgs, Nyt Life, Sun Service, Cells
• 4. Poor/Widow - Outreach
"But my God shall supply all
your need according to His
riches in glory by Christ
Jesus." Philippians 4:19, KJV.
