FRONT OFFICE EQUIPMENT

Room rack – used for registration records,


are inserted to serve as room rack slips.
Front desk agents use this equipment and
information to match available rooms with
guest needs during the registration process.

Key rack – the key rack is an array of


numbered compartments used to store
guestroom keys.

building.

primarily used by reservation department or
by the hotel sales team to write down
the booking details over phone or when they
go for a sales call on client site.

Message Slip - A Message Slip should be


filled out completely and the complete
details, name and contact details of the
visitor/caller should be noted so that the
guest can be informed of the same. This
prompts the guest that there is
a message for him and he may call the front
desk to receive it.

Pen - A pen is a common writing instrument


used to apply ink to a surface, usually paper,
for writing or drawing.

Cash receipt – are paid outs are expenses


made by the hotel on behalf of the guest and
the same is later charged to the Guest room
account or Invoice .E.g.:- Doctor fees paid ,
Medicines purchased , Cash against Credit
card , Stamp / Postal charges etc.

Guest Folio - is considered as the master bill


in the hotel which is also known
as Guest Account Card. A guest
folio contains all transactions of both cash
and credit occurred by each resident guests.

Log Book - Systematic daily or


hourly record of activities, events, and/or
occurrences. Log book is an
important record maintained for each vehicle
regarding its history, capital cost, capacity,
maintenance and running details etc.

Key card - A keycard lock is a lock operated


by a keycard, a flat, rectangular
plastic card with identical dimensions to that
of a credit card or American and EU driver's
license. Keycards are frequently used
in hotels as an alternative to
mechanical keys.
