A Sentence is generally defined as a word or a group of words that expresses


a thorough idea by giving a statement, order, asking a question or exclaiming.

Subject Predicate
SUBJECT

A subject is a person or thing that is doing an action, or the person


or thing that is the focus of sentence.

PREDICATE

The predicate of the sentence is the part that contains the action. It includes all
the description of the actions and the objects that are affected by the action.

Example

Riya and Raja went out to play.

In this sentence, ‘Riya and Raja’ together are subject and ‘went
out to play’ is the predicate.
Such subjects are called Compound subjects.
