SCADA Definition
This act as an operator station.
The operator can monitor as well as control
the process parameters from this station.
Apart from online process data the operator
will have access to historical and real time
trends, alarms and reports.
The operator can give command to control
hardware for operating the value, change the
set print, start the pump etc.

Field Instrumentation
SCADA works on both
Closed Loop System  Used for short
distance
communication
 Feedback is present
 Automatically varying
Open Loop System  Used for
long distance
communication
 No feed back
 Manual variation
Three types of data:

1)    Analog Data  Varying Device

2)   Digital Data  ON/OFF Functions

3)    Pulse Data  Clock pulse from

motor

DATA BASE:
It is the HEART of SCADA

PURPOSE OF DATA BASE:

Receive I/P values from the drive image table
Manipulate process value according to your
instruction
Compare the I/P values to alarm limits you
define
O/P adjusted values to the drive image table
Send Alarm signals to operator display’s,
printer’s, files & network alarm devices
TAGS:
Tags are used to connect the I/P &
O/P address.
There are different types of tags.

They are
   PLC Tag
   Memory Tag
   Expression Tag
   Demo Tag
   Matrix Tag
SCADA Software:
   Wonder Ware in touch
   Win CC  Siemens
   Cimplicity  Ge Fanuc
IFEY, RS View 232  AB
   Ellipse SCADA

SCADA Types:

65, 256, 1000 & 64000 Tags
