OPPORTUNITY IS A FACTOR IN GETTING BY COMPARING AN INTERNAL ANALYSIS
CONDUCTED IN AN INSTITUTION (STRENGTH AND WEAKNESS) WITH AN INTERNAL
ANALYSIS OF THE OTHER COMPETITORS.

AS THE POWER OF OPPORTUNITY MUST ALSO BE RANKED BASED ON THE

SUCCESS PROBABILITY, SO THAT NOT ALL OPPORTUNITIES SHOULD BE
ACHIEVED IN THE TARGET AND STRATEGY OF THE INSTITUTION AND THE
THREAT IS ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS DUE TO TREND GROWTH (COMPETITION)
AND CAN NOT BE AVOIDED.

THREATS CAN ALSO BE SEEN FROM THE SEVERITY OF IMPACT AND THE
POSSIBILITY SO THAT CAN BE CATEGORIZED:

- THE THREAT OF MAJOR (MAJOR THREATS), IS THE THREAT THAT THE

POSSIBILITY OF A HIGH AND A LARGE IMPACT. FOR THE MAIN THREAT, IT CAN
TAKE SOME CONTINGENCY PLANNING MUST BE DONE IN ANTICIPATION OF THE
INSTITUTION.
•According to our group, opportunities and threats from external environment is
the condition develops in the future opportunities that occur. Condition that
occurs is a chance from outside the organization, project or business concept
itself. Example competitors, government policy, environmental conditions
around and trend.Opportunities are external conditions that can help your
business choices that exist in current and future opportunities that can become
a target for a company gathering, increase profits, expand your network or add
new products. One of the conditions that could lead to chance is if the level of
competition in a business is still loose. Economic conditions and trends that
are growing the new business could also bring opportunities. In addition,
government policies can create opportunities.

But, be careful. In the opposite condition; competition, government policies,

and economic conditions that could also be a threat. Back to the example
earlier rattan furniture business. He faces some serious threats. First
competition in the field of rattan furniture pretty fierce. He also may have
difficulty because his rattan raw material will be exported.

• And if we are using internet, we’ll make a website

Competitive intelligence, as formally defined by the Society of
Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP), is a systematic and
ethical process for gathering and analyzing information about the
competition’s activities and general business trends to further
a business own goals.

Its objectives are :

• To provide a general understanding of an industry and its competitors
• To identify areas in which competitors are vulnerable and to assess
the impact strategic actions would have on competitors
• To identify potential moves that a competitor might make that would
endanger a firm’s position in the market.
• Ethics and ethical behavior are concerns here and since the area
is usually perceived as positive to a company's reputation and
competitiveness, it would not be useful for a firm to undertake its
intelligence activities without regard to ethical or legal
considerations. Everything a firm needs to know about the
competition can be obtained by legally available means. Sources
of competitive information include trade journals, wants ads,
newspaper articles, and government filings, as well as customers,
suppliers, distributors, competitors themselves, and the internet.

• Unethical tactics such as bribery, wiretapping, and computer

break-ins should never be used to obtain information.
