THIS PROBLEM?

• We had regular door to door visits


• Awareness campaigns especially
about substance abuse.
• Addressing domestic violence and
HIV/Aids.

• It is very important because we want to


restore the moral values
• Empower victims of abuse
• Taking care of orphans and vulnerable
children.
• Ensuring a good social life for both the victim
and the perpetrator

HOW ARE YOU GOING ABOUT
ADDRESSING THI S PROBLEM?
PROJECTS: SUPPORT

• Refer people for counseling sessions with the


help of a social worker and the police.
• We place the victim in a place of safety until
the problem is solved.
• If the victims are children we rather put
them in forester care or refer them to a place
of safety.
• Provide food and clothes

WHAT IS THE TIME-FRAME FOR THE
PROJECT?

• 5 years from now want a healthy social living


amongst the members of our community .

• Women and children are our key targets.

• Women are in most cases involved


• Currently men are not really interested,
although they are in most cases the
perpetrators.

• We partnered with Department of Social


Services and Development, Department of
Labour, Department Sports, arts and culture.
• The local Police and Justice department
• Starfish Great Heart Foundation

• If the situation is critically serious we


usually do home visits to monitor the
situation.
• Post counseling sessions
• If there is no improvement referrals are
done to a more professional counsellor.

WHAT RESULTS HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED?

• People can now openly talk about their

problems and also refer others to our


organization.
• Teachers at schools also contact us if they
come upon problems learners experience at
home.
