The traditional view of manufacturing management began


in the 18th century when ‘Adam Smith’ recognized of the
economic benefits of specialization
of labour. .
In earlier 20th century, ‘F.W.Taylor’ implemented Smith’s
theories and crusaded for scientific through out the vast
manufacturing complex of the day. After
Adam Smith and Charles Babbage F.W. Taylor suggested
following duties to management.

 Proper segmentation of works
