Sianok canyon is a steep valley
(cliff) located in the border town
of Bukittinggi. The canyon is
about 100 m which extends
along 15 km with a width of
approximately 200 m.

On its banks are still mostly

found Rafflesia and rare plants
such as medicinal plants.

The fauna found such long-tailed

monkeys, gibbons, hoop, deer,
wild boar, leopard, and tapirs.

The most beautiful canyon in the world. With a natural

green view......
Air Manis Beach
Air Manis Beach is 30 minutes
from the city of Padang. It is a
fisherman village. Beside had
beautiful wave, Air Manis
Beach also has a unique Rock
that never seen elsewehere.

It became a famous beach in

Padang beacuse of this Malin
Kundang Rock. This Rock
shown a proof of the legend of
Malin Kudang.

At weekend there are many

teenagers spend their holiday
here. There also have
Homestay for long stay....  Malin Kundang Rock

Singkarak Lake

Another ideal place for recreation and water sport is Singkarak Lake, 36 km from
Bukittinggi. Singkarak Lake is the widest lake in West Sumatra and the second
widest lake in Sumatra Island after Toba Lake.
The Lake that located in 362,5 m height from the sea level, has special species of fish
that only live in this lake and the only in the world. Society around called as Bilih
Fish (Mystacoleuseus Padangensis).
The Lake is equipped by some facilities, such as; hotels, motels, restaurants and also
water sport facilities. Beside used as tourism objects and the economic source of
society around, nowadays, this lake also used as the electric source of Sicincin.
Mentawai Islands
The Mentawai Islands are a chain of
about seventy islands and islets off the
western coast of Sumatra
in Indonesia. Siberut (4,030 km²) is
the largest of the islands. The other
major islands are Sipura, North
Pagai (Pagai Utara) and South
Pagai (Pagai Selatan). The islands lie
approximately 150 km off the
Sumatran coast, across the Mentawai
strait. The indigenous inhabitants of
the islands are known as the Mentawai
people. The Mentawai Islands have
become a noted destination
for surfing.
