“The value of a human being lies not in the truths he
reaches, or in the noble thoughts he adopts. The
worth of a man is rather in believing deeply in his
noble thoughts so that they are impersonated in his
character as well as in his deeds, and are revealed in
his outward life as well as in his inner being.”

Imam Ghazali (R.A)

What is a value?
 Values are what we, as a profession, judge to be
right. They are more than words-they are the moral,
ethical, and professional attributes of character .
 Values are the embodiment of what an organization
stands for, and should be the basis for the behavior
of its members.
 Values can be defined as those things that are
important to or valued by someone. That someone
can be an individual or, collectively, an organization.
One place where values are important is in relation
to vision.
IMPORTANCE OF VALUES
Key leadership with appropriate values
establishes the moral compass that guides the
organization through the complexities of what is
right and wrong.
Values provide the basis for judgment about
what is important for the organization to succeed
in its core business.

 Values are traits or qualities that are considered

worthwhile; they represent an individual’s highest
priorities and deeply held driving forces
Hypocrite – One who subscribes to one set
of values, and does another.

Ethical Behavior
Ethics
–Code of moral principles.
–Set standards of “good” and “bad” as opposed to “right”
and “wrong.”
Ethical behavior
–Ethical behavior is the standards that you hold for yourself
of the attributes of honesty, responsibility, and how you
treat others in all facets of your life.
–The same standards are applicable to whatever position
you hold in organization, in your community, and even
behind your own doors where only you know what you do.
–Ethical behavior is applying these standards even when it
is inconvenient to do so.

Chinese lived quite differently from other cultures in the

position, deprived of respect, abandoned and isolated.
