Lead Time
Fixed Lead Time: The portion of manufacturing lead time that is independent of order quantity. You can enter this factor
manually for an item, or compute it automatically for manufactured items.
Variable Lead Time: The portion of manufacturing lead time that is dependent on order quantity.
Preprocessing Lead Time: A component of total lead time that represents the time required to release a purchase order (for
buy item) or create a job (for make item) from the time you learn the requirement. You can manually enter this factor manually
for both make and buy item.
Postprocessing Lead Time: A component of total lead time that represents the time to make a purchase item available in
Inventory from the time you receive it. This is recognized only for purchased item not for manufacturing (Buy) items.
Processing Lead Time: The tine required to procure or manufacture an item. You can compute processing lead time for a
manufactured item, or manually assign a value.You must assign a processing lead time for purchased item. Processing lead time
does not include Pre and Post processing lead times.
Total Lead Time: Fixed lead time plus variable lead time multiplied by the order quantity The planning process uses total
lead time to calculate the Order start date from Order due date.
Cumulative Manufacturing Lead Time: The total time required to make an item if you had all raw materials in stock
but had to make all sub assemblies level by level.
Cumulative Total Lead Time: The total time required to make an item if no inventory existed and you had to order all the
raw materials and make all the sub assemblies level by level.
