INTRODUCTION
y TCS ("A Tranzum Enterprise") is

a Pakistan based courier service.


y TCS came into being in 1983 as a domestic courier

company to fill a void that arose due to the Government of Pakistan denying foreign courier companies the right to operate locally.
y TCS has a strong presence not only in Pakistan but

also in the Middle East and North America.

y It was founded in Pakistan and after that

started operations in UAE & Canada.


y TCS offers international delivery services -

International Documents and Parcel Express Delivery - to over 2000 destinations across the world through its extended International Network. y It is the only logistics company in Pakistan flying its own aircraft. It started out as a courier company in the 80's and has since evolved and diversified offering complete solutions.

y Mr.Awan is co-founder and Chairman of TCS. His businesses

developed over the past 25 years are collectively called the Tranzum group, (www.tranzum.com). Mr Awan is a mechanical engineer by education. y He is the chairman of TCS ("A Tranzum Enterprise") y Khalid Nawaz Awan was largely responsible for establishing DHL Pakistan with his elder brother Brig. Sadiq Nawaz Awan. y Besides business he devotes his time to several welfare, and professional bodies.

Strengths:y Branches across the country. y TCS has its own airplanes and operates them on

their own licenses. y TCS has done and doing extensive market researches. y Holds more than 55% share in Domestic Market.

Strengths:y TCS holds more than 50% market share in Overland

Express. y TCS holds more than 60% market share in Sentiments Express.
y TCS advertises very heavily in domestic market. y TCS has been able to internally generate

sufficient cash for all its capital needs. y International operation in the UAE and Canada has been set up as joint venture.

Weaknesses:y TCS has not been able to continue point of

delivery I.T. Support System. y TCS does not have expert I.T. Systems and support which has caused huge losses. y TCS still relies on international partners for its overseas operations. y TCS has been initially the victim of family issues. y TCS loses its employees easily and these employees join competitors.

TCS has a host of aggressive competitors in Pakistan. TCS competitors are experienced and cash rich companies. Pakistan flagship carrier PIA has started its own courier services. Economic and political conditions with in Pakistan. Increasing fuel prices all over the world.
