Work means employment or paid work. Domestic & Private Life refers To one's personal lives, experiences responsibilities outside and beyond workplace.

Understanding work-life balance work

WorkWork-Life Balance does not mean an equal balance. Trying balance. to schedule an equal number of hours for each of your various work and personal activities is usually unrewarding and unrealistic. unrealistic. Life is and should be more fluid than that. that. Your best individual work-life balance will vary over time, workoften on a daily basis. What is Being Out of Balance




I m over-worked and overwhelmed, overbut my boss sets the deadlines, and there s nothing I can do. do. The demands don t end at 5 pm I have to make time for all my other responsibilities, too. too. I don t remember the last time I did anything just for me. me. I m always hurrying to get the next thing done - sometimes I make mistakes that take even longer to fix! It feels like an endless cycle. cycle.

I like my job. I have a wonderful family and supportive spouse. But, it feels like I am stretched to the limit! It seems that I never have enough hours in the day to get my work done and still have time for my family and friends.

There is just no such thing as personal time in my life!

Direct effect of misbalance




It is bound to have bad effect on your health (stress, BP ETC.). ETC. You may loose your friends, relations. relations. You may stop enjoying your work, hence the position ,status and opportunities. opportunities. The misbalance can be disastrous to even most successful persons. persons.

The core of work life balance




The core of an effective work-life balance are two key workconcepts that are relevant to each of us. They are daily Achievement and Enjoyment. Both ideas almost deceptive in their simplicity. Achievement and Enjoyment are like two sides of a coin. You can't have one without the other. Trying to live one sided life is why so many "Successful" people are not happy, or not nearly as happy as they should be.

I know what my priorities are at work, and I know how to meet them. I have time to spend with my loved ones, and I get a little time to myself to recharge as well.

Meditate (using yoga techniques). Use your commute time wisely Set. Set prioritiesand stick to them. Share the workload at home. Set time aside for fun and relaxation. Monitor your workload.
