CAMERAS IN 3DS STUDIO MAX

 Learning objectives

At the end of this topic, you will be able to:

 State the function of camera in 3d environment.

 List down 2 types of camera available in 3ds Studio Max and
its important component.
 List down 6 types of buttons inside camera navigation
control and its function correctly.
 Apply camera into 3D scene and modify its parameter
correctly.
 Camera

 Function :

Camera in 3d environment are used to display view and

capture 3d scene that can be altered as we would alter a
camera lens which mimic real-life cameras.

 Since its exist in unrealistic world, it also known as virtual

camera.
 Types of camera

 There are 2 types of camera in 3ds Studio Max that is:

1. Target Camera
Usually used for fixed
camera placement
while the target moves.

1. Free Camera
Used when the camera
itself will be animated.
 Important Component
 The important component in camera is lenses which
determine the Field of View of a camera.

 Small lens size give a wide angle FOV, whereas large lens
sizes give a small FOV (Zoomed-in).

Types of camera

 To apply camera into 3D scene, select camera button in

command panels. Then, select types of camera.
 Modify Camera Parameter

 To go to camera modify panel, select camera then click

modify button in command panels.

 The camera lens size can be changed by selecting

appropriate lens size in camera parameter.

 To modify camera position use select and move tools and

rotate tools in tool bar menu. It enables camera to be
rotated, move and position in the new place.

 Conclusion
