Case:Tofire or not
to fire
Teacher A is a Literature subject teacher . He handles the said subject in all grade levels in high school. His co-teachers were complaining about his late submission of grades since those grades have to be consolidated.
Literature is one of the components in English and it has to be consolidated first in the core subject before all grades have to be made final.
The principal, upon hearing those complains, was pressured by such roundabouts of firing teacher A. However, the teacher is excellent in the subject and he has the most achievements in his field.
The principal make an investigation of the matter and found out that the teacher was busy with his thesis and at the same time working on-line jobs for extra income to support his postgraduate studies.
The conversation of the principal to teacher A is like giving a teacher a prompt to be punctual in submitting grades. On the 2nd quarter of the same SY, the teacher is doing great submitting reports on time..
It so happen that the principal has been busy with some other things that he forgot to recognize the teachers improvement
On the 3rd quarter, he has submitted the grades on time but the principal just ignored the improvement of the teacher. During the last quarter wherein a lot of reports have to be made as per required by DepEd, Teacher A had passed them late.
The date set for the distribution of report cards was affected and the parents concerned were murmuring about the schools efficiency and effectiveness.
If you are the principal, are you going to let the teacher stay in your school for the next school year?.
