What is C.S.R.
Corporate social responsibility is the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the work force ,their families and the local community and society at large.

Brief Profile of Tata Steel


Came into existence in 1907 by Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata Formerly known as Tata Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. (TISCO) World's seventh largest steel manufacturing company Works at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, with an annual capacity of 31 million tonnes Caters TMT bars, forging quality steel, Iron rods, structurals, Ferro alloys Listed in NSE and BSE
alloys.

The attitude and philosophy of the Tata group is to believed that the company must balance the interests of all stakeholders. Tata steel has evolved a Tata index. Tata Steel Limited has been awarded the prestigious Golden Peacock Global Award for Corporate Social responsibility.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
Empowering the women folk has been a thrust area for Corporate Sustainability Services division of TATA Steel. Jointly inaugurated two vocational training modules at the jail premises ,Ghadigh, Jharkhand for women inmates. The women inmates undergo training on jewellery making and beautician courses. TATA Steel on principal has agreed to bear the entire expenses for the training.

Hello Zindagi, a movie venture supported by Tata Steel and Dhamra Port Company Ltd, which released on March 5, highlights the sensitive issue of the conservation of Olive Ridley turtles in the story. A Tata Steel spokesperson said the association with Hello Zindagi is a part of Tata Steel's corporate social responsibility.
