INDIA Charcoal in India is mainly used by food vendors, laundry units at domestic level and at industry level for incense stick manufacturing , calcium carbonate industry, lead extracting ,metal processing, etc. Different varieties of products such as charcoal soap , radiance absorber etc., are not made Co-operatives working in India lack community store and direct market linkages, agents are involved in India. Prosopis juliflora (Mulla tumma) (this plant can also easily grow in areas with less rainfall)is used apart from the usage of bamboo and other woody plants for charcoal making. Charcoal in India is usually made at 400 c to 700 degree Celsius which causes more pollution

THAILAND Used for cooking by households also at the domestic level and by many industries . Diversified products are made like charcoal soap , radiance absorber, flower charcoal , fruit charcoal ,smoke vinegar, etc.,

The community enterprise has its market directly linked with the 9 community enterprises in 5 other provinces , no agents are involved Bamboo , Eucalyptus , and other woody plants are used.

Charcoal is made at temperature above 800c and this technique causes less pollution.

RECOMMANDATION
Plant bamboo (bheema bamboo) which is non flowering and as such can meet the needs of the raw materials. Use Prosopis juliflora as it can be easily grown in any area. To mobilize funds increase savings of the group members as their income has also doubled. Link the group to financial institutes so as mobilize funds . They can also link with village development fund They have to try to obtain OTOP certificate as soon as possible to get linked with the national market.
