Last Year we had our lecture in this place on this

topic, in which we said that: Human life on this earth is indeed a test period. Humans are given freedom to live their lives according to Divine Guidance sent thru the Prophets, or Live their lives according to their whims and fancies. But they have to give their accounts on the Last Day

Reference (Contd.)

A complete Record of every mans doings and

sayings is being kept and it will be presented on the Last Day. Every Individual Man has to appear before his Creator on that day and his account shall be taken. This account shall be both for his faith and his deeds, good deeds and bad deeds shall be weighed and if the good deeds are more, he will go to a place of pleasure and enjoyment (called Swarg). And if his Bad deeds are more than the good deeds,

he will be sent to a place of Hardship (called Nark) 4

This next life shall be eternal and there shall be no

Swarg and Nark (Concept)

Concept of Swarg and Nark is present in almost

every major religious Scripture of the world. Sometimes it is clear and some time it is blurred, but Quran highlights these places in great length so that there is no doubt about their existence and their attributes.

Swarg and Nark (A Study in Contrast)

Swarg and Nark are exactly opposite to each

other. Swarg (Heaven or Paradise) is the place of every type of Bliss and Enjoyment. Nark (Hell or Hades) is the place of every type of Punishment and Hardship

Some Basic Misunderstandings

People have common misunderstandings about

Swarg and Nark. They fail to realise that on the Last Day the Resurrection shall be for both Body and Soul. Therefore enjoyment and punishment shall be for both body and soul. Sometimes people forget this and raise objections when food, drink or women are mentioned as blessings in Swarg.

Swarg and Nark, how to keep Balance?

It is very difficult to keep balance, if we give more
importance to Swarg and its gifts, people start having false hopes and become lax in their deeds. However if we give more importance to Hell and its punishment, humans get despair of the mercy of God and leave doing and good deed. Quran in its miraculous ways, always keeps a balance and often mentions both at the same time.

Qurans description of Swarg And Nark (Points of Caution) Before we start this, we would like to point out

the following: 1. These descriptions are for a future world, which is different from our world, so the words should be taken in allegorical sense and not literal sense. 2. When Quran mentions any items of Swarg which is also found in this world, the similarity is only in name, not in kind. 3. In fact Quran says that in Heavens there are things which no Human eyes ever saw, or human ears ever heard or even any human mind contemplated on it.

Gifts in Swarg (Similarity is only in names)

Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit there from, they will say, "This is what we were provided with before." And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally. (2:25)

Quran and Gifts in Swarg (Allegorical)

Is the description of Paradise, which the righteous are promised, wherein are rivers of water unaltered, rivers of milk the taste of which never changes, rivers of wine delicious to those who drink, and rivers of purified honey, in which they will have from all [kinds of] fruits and forgiveness from their Lord, like [that of] those who abide eternally in the Fire and are given to drink scalding water that will sever their intestines? (47:12)

Qurans description of Swarg And Nark (Points of Caution- Contd) Caution-

Human life on this earth and in Hereafter shall be

on a different plane. Like we eat, to survive, and when we eat, it is digested and some parts are absorbed by the body and some go out with Urine and Execrate. But in the Swarg, people shall eat for its enjoyment part, there shall be no limit on eating and none of bad affects shall be visible.

In the same way, we have sex on this earth for

continuation of human race and it has its share of complications, but in Swarg, the sex part shall be for companionship and enjoyment, without any side or ill effect. Sometime people did not understand this and object, why females shall be given in Swarg and why a man will get many female companions.

Followings shall be given: Like a Garden With Flowing Water With Deep Shade Air Conditioning! Plenty of Food and Drink Female Companions,

Beautiful Palaces Beautiful Dress and

Ornaments Any thing and every thing which a man heart shall desire

Attributes of Swarg (A Garden Like Place) Place)

But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens (55:46) And below them both [in excellence] are two [other] gardens (55:62) Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and rivers, (54:54) Those are the ones brought near [to (11) (11) Allah] (11) In the Gardens of Pleasure, (12) (56:11-12) (12) (56:1116

Attributes of Swarg (Flowing Waters)

In both of them are two springs, flowing. (55:50) (55:50) In both of them are two springs, spouting. (55: 66) 66) A spring of which the [righteous] servants of Allah will drink; they will make it gush forth in force [and abundance]. (76: 6)

Attributes of Swarg (Deep Shades)

And shade extended (76:30 ) (76:30 And near above them are its shades, and its [fruit] to be picked will be lowered in compliance. (76: 14) 14)

They will not see therein any [burning] sun or [freezing] cold. (76:13)

Attributes of Swarg (Beautiful Palaces)

Blessed is He who, if He willed, could have made for you [something] better than that - gardens beneath which rivers flow - and could make for you palaces. (25:10) (25:10)

Attributes of Swarg (Dress and Ornaments)

Upon the inhabitants will be green garments of fine silk and brocade. And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink. (76: 21) 21)

Attributes of Swarg (To fulfill every Desires)

Gardens of perpetual residence, which they will enter, beneath which rivers flow. They will have therein whatever they wish. Thus does Allah reward the righteous - (16: 31) 31) And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request [or wish] (41: 31) As accommodation 31) from a [Lord who is] Forgiving and Merciful." Quran s Swarg and its attributes ( For Human Soul)

Human Soul shall have following Gifts: Freedom from Loose Talk, Vain Talk No Fighting , No Jealousy Salutations of Peace from Allah and His Angels Assurances that they shall never be turned out from this bliss

And the Best Gift

shall be that they will see Allah, and it shall top every other type of gift or blessing.

Attributes of Swarg (No Vain or loose talks)

They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - (25) Only a 25) saying: "Peace, peace." (56:26) (56:26)

Attributes of Swarg (No Fighting or Jealousy)

And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of resentment, [so they will be] brothers, on thrones facing each other. (15:47) (15:47)

Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah " and then remained on a right course - the angels will descend upon them, [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised. (41:30) (41:30) And] "Peace," a word from a Merciful Lord. (36: 58) 58)

Attributes of Swarg (Assurance of Permanent Dwelling)

[Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]." (15: 46) 46) No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed. (15: 48) 48)

Grades of Swarg

There shall be many Grades in Swarg and they

shall be according to the ranks and faith and good deeds. Highest Grades of Swarg shall be for Prophets of God, Siddiques, Martyrs in the Way of Allah, and Righteous Servants. But there shall be no jealousy between people on Higher Grade and those in Lower Grade, each shall think that he is best situated. Quran mentions NAEEM, ADN, FIRDAUS as some of the Swargs that shall be given

Attributes of Nark ( A Complete Contrast)

In Complete Contrast to 5. Rude attitude of

Swarg, Quran tells us that Nark shall be: 1. A place of punishment for body and soul. 2. There shall be Fire and Smoke. 3. Thorny weeds to eat. 4. Boiling Water to Drink

Guards. 6. Insults and taunts. 7. No hopes for future release

Attributes of Nark (Fire and Smoke)

They will be] in scorching fire and (42) (42) scalding water (42) And a shade of (43) (43) black smoke, (43) Neither cool nor beneficial. (56:44) (6) It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, (6) Which mounts directed at (6 the hearts. (104: 7)

Attributes of Nark (Thorny food)

Nor any food except from the (36) (36) discharge of wounds; (36) None will eat it except the sinners. (69: 37) 37) For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant (6) Which neither nourishes (6 nor avails against hunger. (88: 7)

Attributes of Nark (Boiling Water)

like [that of] those who abide eternally in the Fire and are given to drink scalding water that will sever their intestines? (47:15) (47:15) Before him is Hell, and he will be given a drink of purulent water. (16) (16) He will gulp it but will hardly [be able to] swallow it. And death will come to him from everywhere, but he is not to die. And before him is a massive punishment. (14: 17) 17)

Attributes of Nark (Rude Attitude)

over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded. (66: 6)

Attributes of Nark (Insults and Taunts)

It will be said], "Taste! Indeed, you are the honored, the noble! (44: 49) 49)

Our Lord, remove us from it, and if we were to return [to evil], we (107) would indeed be wrongdoers." (107) He will say, "Remain despised 107) therein and do not speak to Me. (23 ;108) 108)

Attributes of Nark (No Hope for release)

To them] it will be said, "Enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and wretched is the residence of the arrogant." (39: 72) 72) But the ones who disbelieved and denied Our verses - those are the companions of the Fire, abiding eternally therein; and wretched is the destination. (64:10) (64:10)

Mutual Recriminations of Nark Dwellers

In This world there is very close ties between

these people and they support each other, but Quran tells us that in Nark there will be fights and arguments between groups, some of them are: 1. Between Old Generation and New Generation 2. Between Leaders and Chiefs and their Followers. 3. Between Satan and those whom he mislead

Between Earlier and Following Generations

Every time a nation enters, it will curse its sister until, when they have all overtaken one another therein, the last of them will say about the first of them "Our Lord, these had misled us, so give them a double punishment of the Fire. He will say, "For each is double, but you do not know." (38) (38) And the first of them will say to the last of them, "Then you had not any favor over us, so taste the punishment for what you used to earn." (7:39) (7:39) They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us - increase for him double punishment in the Fire." (38:61) (38:61)

Between Leaders and Chiefs and their Followers

Those who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, "If not for you, we would have been believers." (31) Those who were arrogant (31) will say to those who were oppressed, "Did we avert you from guidance after it had come to you? Rather, you were criminals." (34: 32) Those 32) who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, "Rather, [it was your] conspiracy of night and day when you were ordering us to disbelieve in Allah and attribute to Him equals."

Between Satan and those he deceived (A very Comical Scene!)

And Satan will say when the matter has been concluded, "Indeed, Allah had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I cannot be called to your aid, nor can you be called to my aid. Indeed, I deny your association of me [with Allah] before. Indeed, for the wrongdoers is a painful punishment." (22) (22)

ConclusionConclusion-1

Now that we have seen both the sides, I do not know

that any one of us would willingly like to go to Nark and would not strive his or her best to try to enter Swarg. But is Entering Swarg very difficult? No, according to Quran! The God is Merciful and ready to accept our Repentance. We must not worship false gods or associate any one with the Worship of True God and try to follow the path shown by prophets

Conclusion -2

God shall reward every good deed at least 10 times

and evil deed only 1 time, so if we do good deeds only 10 %, we shall be even. It is only those who do not do good even 10 % who are trying their best not to go to Swarg and enter Nark. Remember life on this earth is short and life in hereafter is endless. I hope and prey that we shall meet and gather together in one of the Swargs!
