The strength and natural good looks of cedar made it the right choice for a chair custom made for a Sumo wrestler.

The Leather "Ox Chair" and ottoman shows all of Wegner's 1960's aesthetic of warmth and simplicity but delivers it with an edge not seen in his wooden works.

We loved Susan Wood's screens and bent plywood furniture from the moment we saw them at ICFF a few years ago. Since then, her mattress spring-made room dividers and bent ply creations have decorated shops from Ferragamo to Saks, and her design lines keep growing. This year, she debuted our favorite creation yet, the Ribbon Float Lounge Chair.

Netherlands design studio OOOMS creates it all: the odd, interesting, useful, useless products that can all be described as art. Among these are the anti gravity machine, gold staple jewelry, the Rollator (a treadmill with wheels) and Rebellious Cabinets (furniture with drawers that cannot all be closed at once). Their most saleable product seems to be their wooden USB Memory Sticks, a clever combo of nature and technology, but my favorite is the Expect Cabinet. A straight lined cabinet with what appears to be 4 drawers turns out to be something most unexpected, a complex series of hidden spaces.

Parents who are sick of telling their kids to stand up straight may want to try the opposite approach and indulge their kids' bent for leaning with LeaningMolds. Molded wall-hung pieces fit together like puzzle pieces to create a stable wall meant specifically for leaning - and it's appropriate for any age. Available by contacting Kidsmodern.
