Introduction
IVRS is a electronic device which provide a voice

response to the customers & guide them to the information they require related to any topic about a particular organization with the help of telephone lines anywhere in the world.

IVRS is unique blend of both the communication field & software field, incorporating the best features of both these streams of technology.

Aim of the Project


We have decided this topic IVRS because:It does not compete with website, rather it complements the website. The way any organization has an website, it must have one IVRS too. We are designing this IVRS system for our SIRT college which will provide the information about the performance of student studying into it depending on the data fed into IVRS system through telephone lines anywhere in the world.

Providing information about the organization 24 hours a day. And the customer does not have to come to the office of the institute, rather he can just use his phone and make a call. Just like visiting a website.

Its an achievement to be an IVRS enabled institute ,one another milestone in its path to excellence.

Major Components
1.Ring Detection Circuit:

The ring circuit must pass the ring signal information to microcontroller and also provide electrical isolation between telephone line and microcontroller. This ring detection is done using one optoisolator (The main purpose of an opto-isolator is "to prevent high voltages or rapidly changing voltages on one side of the circuit from damaging components or distorting transmissions on the other side) circuit.

DTMF Decoder:

To decode the signal from tone generated by dialing the number. We are using DTMF decoder IC MT8870/CM8870 that will provide the BCD equivqlent of that number. Microcontroller: It is the heart of the project. IC89c2051 is used ,which is a 20 pin IC. It simply pick up the phone,and sending signal to PC that a call has been made for IVRS.

MAX232 Driver:

To make RS 232 cable compatibe with TTL logic family. softwares: IVRS system software on visual basic. C language programming for 89c2051.

Other Applications:
. Mobile: Mobile purchases such as ringtones. . Banking: Balance, payments, transactions . . Travel: Ticket booking, flight information. . Weather forcast . And so on.

Scope of the Project


In todays world everything needs to be done from the comfort of ones home or office. For this application is prepared in such a way that they can

be easily accessed through Telephone lines.


Due to this project the traditional manual way of

handling the customers queries will be handled in a more technological and automated way. This type of system performs operations similar to that of a human telephone operator.

Conclusion
The system designed will be intelligent for interaction and

will suitably provide a good response to the caller who will access it.
It will be truly a responsible system for human mankind. We

will make it better than the present scenario system.


It will be digitally accessed and will have a strong data base

and can be operated easily and of low cost. And the future will show that every organization will be using our system.

Caller dials the IVRS no.

The computers wait for a specified no. of ringing tones at the end of which, the connection is established.

The connection is established by lifting the handset of telephone base from ONHOOK condition.

Now, a pre-recorded voice greets the caller conforming that the no. dialled corresponding to the particular service.

Next, the menu is presented to the caller again in the voice form, giving him the various options to choose from.

Depending on user choice database is accordingly referenced & necessary information is obtained & put across to the user in voice.
